The jewel in Mardi Gras’ glittering crown is undoubtedly the parade, but there are 16 days of LGBTQI events that surround the big night. Festivities kick off when the rainbow flag is hoisted above Sydney Town Hall two weeks before the parade followed by the Mardi Gras Fair Day on Sunday, at Victoria Park in Camperdown. With so much to attend, here’s our list of not-to-be-missed parties!
FAIR DAY – 17th February 2019
Fair Day’s an out-and-out, full-on fabulous day of fun and adventure where you can chill with a picnic spread, browse the community stalls or kick up your heels and have a dance.
THE SISSY BALL – 23rd February 2019
Australia’s biggest vogue ball returns with more attitude than ever. Style and precision will once again collide on the runway as Sissy Ball takes over Carriageworks with a celebration of self-expression and identity. Rounding out entertainment on the night will be live music, DJs and performing artists.
