Definitely a pride worth visiting – despite the distance!
The Auckland Pride Festival is bringing the love back to our fabulous Super City throughout February!
The Auckland Pride Festival is firmly established as New Zealand’s biggest and best social and cultural celebration for the Rainbow Community
A celebration of Rainbow Community culture and identity, Auckland Pride Festival will feature around 70 individual events – including local and international theatre and cabaret, visual art exhibitions, live music, film and new media, literature, debates and discussions, drag and burlesque, historical walks, youth events and workshops, sports and recreation, gardening, pets, pageants and parties!
While most Auckland Pride Festival activity will centre around Ponsonby and Karangahape Roads, the Festival’s events will also reach out to West Auckland, South Auckland and into the Hauraki Gulf.
The main parade on the Saturday and the Big Gay Day Out on the Sunday are not to be missed!
Here are the hotels we recommend that have good reviews and keep you close to all the action

The gay bars and clubs are located on Karangahape road and have some good hotel and apartments close by that will not break the bank.

Recommended Hotels in Auckland
Auckland’s gay scene is located in two neighbourhoods in the city, Karangahape Road & Ponsonby & Grey Lynn.
Karangahape Road (or K’ Road for short )is a former red light district is known for its artsy boutiques, hip café culture, and crazy nightlife. Meanwhile, Ponsonby & Grey Lynn has become a gentrified Edwardian district with charming streets, hip boutiques and bars and cafes.
We have chosen hotels within easy walking distance of the bars and clubs.
