Lauderdale Tropical Bear Week returns for six days of pool parties, beach events, bear nightlife, social gatherings and outdoor celebrations across Fort Lauderdale and Wilton Manors.
- Stay at the The Grand Resort and Spa, host of the official parties with a large pool, spacious rooms, friendly staff and perfect location.
The Event
- Next Edition: Tuesday 23rd March to Sunday 28th March 2027.
- Bears everywhere head to Fort Lauderdale, Florida to catch some winter sun with an over-the-top, six-day celebration comprising more than a dozen events.
- The massive bear ‘gaythering’ takes place at venues in Wilton Manors, known as “the gayest place on Earth” and beautiful Fort Lauderdale Beach, with an signature beach parties, pool events and block parties.
- Tuesday begins with an opening block party and a welcome pool event at Solstice.
- Wednesday centres on the host hotel, including a cookout, Bear-e-oke and the Big Kahuna Pool Party.
- Thursday combines excursions and wellness events with comedy and the Brawny Bear takeover.
- Friday brings Drag Brunch and Bear Bingo, two very different pool parties and Megawoof.
- Saturday’s main daytime event is Bear Village at Richardson Park, followed by Furball at Eagle. Sunday closes with the Tropical Bear Beach Party.

Gay Fort Lauderdale and Getting Around
- Wilton Manors is the nightlife hub. Wilton Drive contains Eagle, The Pub and many gay bars and restaurants; Richardson Park sits at the north end of the main strip.
- Fort Lauderdale Beach is the resort base. The Grand and several gay guest houses sit a few blocks back from the ocean, close to Sebastian Street Beach.
- The two areas are not comfortably walkable from one another. Plan on rideshares for parties, and leave extra time for Friday and Saturday night traffic.
- Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport is roughly 7 miles from the beach resort area and around 10 miles from central Wilton Manors. Travel time changes sharply with traffic.
