Pride in November is HOT – It has to be Palm Springs..
Cars, horses, trucks and trams you name it, it’s in the Palm Springs gay pride parade, this fun pride boasts a host of parties and events to keep you entertained from the cocktail challenge, drag pageant, pool party to the main parade and much much more.
Palm Springs Pride consists of a downtown Block Party held Saturday evening, from 6 until 11 pm along the gay-bar strip on Arenas Road, a Pride Parade on Sunday morning, at 10 am, and a festival held over all three days of the weekend.
Palm Canyon Drive will be closed to traffic and transformed into a vibrant, pedestrian friendly Pride Festival, unique to Southern California. A diverse array of artists, entertainers, multiple beverage gardens and purveyors of all sorts including, jewellery, snacks and sweets. The Pride festival is free and open to all. Festival highlights include: US Bank Stage, Pride Stage at the Hyatt, the Big Top Cabaret and Palm Springs Gay Rodeo Association Country Dance tent. The festival will feature live performances from queer electro-hop superstars to eclectic musical and new wave techno-pop bands. Over 125 exhibitors and non-profit organisations, Farmers’ Market, & food vendors.
60,000 spectators will gather along palm tree lined streets to cheer and support local organizations, activists and themed floats along historic Palm Canyon Drive. The parade is scheduled for Sunday at 10 a.m. stepping off in Uptown at Tachevah and Palm Canyon Dr and travelling south on Palm Canyon Drive to downtown and ending at Amado.
The parade ends around 12:30pm. The parade route travels directly to the opening gates of the Pride Festival. Plan ahead so you can enjoy FREE entry to the Pride Festival at the end of the Parade route.
