Tis the season to jingle your bells and don your gay apparel! Santa Speedo Run Northalsted brings the hottest guys stripped down to their speedos and supporting a great cause.
- Stay close by the Speedo run and Sidetrack bar at the Hotel Zachary for the perfect gay Christmas escape. The 4-star hotel has chic rooms with excellent amenities and a delicious onsite bakery.
The Speedo Run
The event takes place at the heart of Chicago’s gay district, Northalsted and is organised in association with the gay Center on Halsted and Sidetrack Bar. The run is for 1 mile.
Santa Speedo Run Northalsted Schedule
- Awaiting date – typically the first Saturday in December.
- 12 pm: Sign-in @ Sidetrack
- 2 pm: 1-mile run through Lakeview East
- 2:30 pm: Awards, entertainment and door prizes!
- 4-8 pm: The After-Party!
- Sidetrack is open until 3 am Saturdays, so the party continues into the night!
All of the money that you raise goes directly to the Center on Halsted to fund their many programs. Incentive prizes are all paid for by sponsors.
What to Wear?
- As the name implies, you’re encouraged to wear a speedo (or bikini) and a Santa hat for the run. Elves, Reindeer, Hanukkah Harrys, Snowmen, Polar Bears, Nutcrackers, Sugarplum Fairies, etc. are ALL welcome!
- If you don’t already have holiday gear, why not stop at the Men’s Room on Halsted where you’ll receive a 25% discount when you say “Santa Speedo Run.”
