Joy party brings the biggest gay theme parties and circuit DJs to Rio during large holidays and celebrations throughout the year.
JOY Party Rio – Circuit Events – New Year Edition 2027
JOY Party produces some of Rio de Janeiro’s largest gay circuit events, combining headline Brazilian DJs, dancers, elaborate stage productions and themed venues.

- Next Edition: From: Saturday, January 2, 2027 to Sunday, January 3, 2027 – JOY Atlântica Circuit Party.

- The 2027 New Year edition presents two consecutive events: an overnight rooftop party followed by a daytime pool party overlooking the Atlantic.
- JOY announces further editions throughout the year, often timed around Rio Carnival, major holiday weekends, Pride and Réveillon.
- Want to stay in Copacabana? For great views stay at the Rio Othon Palace with a beautiful rooftop pool and located just steps from the beach.
JOY Atlântica 2027
- JOY Atlântica celebrates DJ Eudes Freire’s birthday with an extended night-to-day event at Faro Beach Club.
- Rooftop party runs from 23:00 on Saturday night until 08:00 on Sunday morning.
- Pool party begins directly afterwards and continues from 08:00 until 18:00.
- Featuring progressive and tribal house, a predominantly gay male crowd, dancers and a full Brazilian circuit lineup.
- Guests attending both sessions can party continuously from Saturday night through Sunday afternoon.

- Faro Beach Club – Located on Avenida Niemeyer, between Leblon and São Conrado.
- The property features a rooftop event space, swimming pool and direct views across the Atlantic.
- JOY uses the rooftop for the overnight party before moving into a daytime pool-party format.
- The venue is around 10 to 15 minutes by taxi from central Leblon and 15 to 25 minutes from Ipanema, depending on traffic.
- Avenida Niemeyer is not suited to walking from the main beach districts. Use an official taxi or app-based car.
- Arrange your return journey before leaving the venue. Mobile coverage and car availability can become strained at the end of a large party.
- Confirm whether lockers, towels and pool access are included in your ticket before arrival.
JOY During New Year in Rio
- JOY Atlântica takes place just after Rio’s main Réveillon celebrations, making it a strong closing event for a New Year holiday.
- Most visitors arrive before 31st December for the Copacabana fireworks and remain in the city for the first weekend of January. Book accommodation early, since Ipanema, Copacabana and Leblon sell out for Réveillon.
Where to stay in Rio
- Ipanema is the best base for first-time gay visitors. The main LGBTQ+ beach section sits near Rua Farme de Amoedo, with gay-friendly bars, cafés and late-night venues close by.
- Leblon lies directly west of Ipanema and offers a quieter, upmarket base closer to Faro Beach Club. Copacabana has a broader range of accommodation and late-night bars, yet the trip to Faro takes longer.

Gay Map of Rio
Most of Rips gay bars are located in Ipanema and Copacabana. Ipanema’s gayest nightspot is on the beach block of Rua Teixeira de Melo, next to Farme.
Along Copacabana beach there is a traditionally gay-friendly area known as Bolsa, near Lido. Hustlers are pretty much part of the scene, and you should keep a good hold on your wallet
