X-Formosa Pride Taipei 2026

Formosa Pride returns to Taipei for three nights of international circuit parties and a Sunday bear tea dance. The 2026 edition, NEW ERA, brings together DJs from Europe, Asia and South America, large-scale stage productions, live singers and an international line-up of dancers.

Held during Taiwan Pride, X-Formosa is one of the biggest ticketed gay party weekends in Asia.

  • For the main parties, Hyatt Place New Taipei City Xinzhuang is a convenient option in the same wider district as the exhibition venue. It has modern rooms, a rooftop swimming pool and easier access to the festival than hotels in central Taipei. However, Ximending is better for visitors planning to enjoy the gay bars and Pride celebrations throughout the weekend.

The Event

  • Next Edition: Friday, October 30, 2026 To Sunday, November 1, 2026.
  • Theme: NEW ERA.
  • Highlights: Three nighttime circuit parties, the WOOF bear tea dance, international DJs, live performances and go-go dancers.
  • Venue: New Taipei City Exhibition Hall, No. 1 Wuquan Road, Wugu District, New Taipei City.
  • Parties: Black Arena, White Eden, WOOF and Pink.
  • Crowd: An international mix of circuit fans, bears, muscle guys and visitors from across Asia.

Before the Party – Taipei Gay Bars

Ximending is Taipei’s main gay nightlife district, centred around the historic Red House. It is the natural meeting point before travelling to Formosa Pride.

  • Café Dalida – One of the Red House’s established gay bars, with a large outdoor terrace, cocktails and drag entertainment. A sociable meeting point before heading to the festival.
  • Commander D – A fetish-oriented gay venue with themed nights, a predominantly male crowd and a more adventurous atmosphere than the outdoor cocktail bars.
  • Locker Room – A gay entertainment bar known for male dancers, performances and themed nights, attracting a younger crowd during Pride.

Allow enough time to reach the exhibition hall before the main performances begin.

Taiwan Pride Weekend

  • The festival takes place alongside Taiwan’s annual LGBTQ+ Pride celebrations.
  • The main parade is held on Saturday 31st October 2026, departing Taipei City Hall Plaza at 14:05.
  • After the parade, many visitors head to Ximending for drinks and dinner before travelling to White Eden.
  • The free Taipei Rainbow Festival also takes place around the Red House, with shopping stalls, DJs and performances during Pride week.

Where to Stay for Formosa Pride Taipei

Ximending is the strongest base for visitors combining the circuit festival with Taipei’s gay nightlife. It has the Red House bars, late-night restaurants and excellent MRT connections.

For those attending all four Formosa parties and prioritising sleep over sightseeing, Xinzhuang offers a shorter journey to the exhibition hall.

  • Hyatt Place New Taipei City Xinzhuang – A modern hotel with spacious rooms, a rooftop swimming pool and a location in New Taipei’s Xinzhuang district. More convenient for the festival venue than central Taipei, although guests will need transport to reach the Red House bars and the main Pride celebrations.
  • WESTGATE Hotel – Located almost directly outside Ximen MRT Station, with comfortable beds, good sound insulation and a practical layout. The Red House bars are a short walk away, and the nearby transport connections make it particularly convenient for Pride weekend.
  • Sotetsu Grand Fresa Taipei Ximen – A Japanese-style hotel opposite Ximending, with spacious bathrooms, well-insulated rooms and consistently strong housekeeping. Its location beside Ximen Station is useful for moving between the parade, gay district and festival transport connections.
  • amba Taipei Ximending – Set above the Eslite shopping complex on Wuchang Street, with generously sized rooms, a lively restaurant and good breakfast. Surrounded by Ximending’s shops and late-night restaurants, with the Red House approximately seven minutes away on foot.
