Hong Kong’s annual gay dance party on the water. Get ready to ‘float’ with hot men and babes on Saturday, at Lamma Island.

The Pride Parade on the Water
- Next Edition: Saturday 12th October, 2024 – The event falls on the busy long weekend of the Chung Yeung Festival.
- Get ready for an October sailing with gay guys from all over Asia and beyond.
- Almost every different demographic attends what is, in effect, the community’s ‘Private Pride’, not out on the city streets this time but out at sea.
Register to get on board
- To get onboard you’ve got to register with a participating boat. Boat crews come from absolutely every part of the Hong Kong scene: lesbian, gay and transgender; club kids and university students; young and old; local and expat; bear and twink.

The Venue
- The event takes place at Chung Hom Kok, a cove right next to the familiar South Bay of Hong Kong Island. The exact departure point is posted the day of the event.
- Note! Floatilla just sets an annual date and location, that’s it. Typically the event is held on the second Saturday of October. There is no organiser or sponsor or host, this is a free event so thought a community driven it is owned by you.
- You rent the boat, you decide who is on your boat, you define your catering needs and costs, what time to pick up, and from where: Aberdeen, Central Pier 9, Causeway Bay. The departure point is just a 5-minute drive from the central district.
- Stay close to all of Hong Kong’s busy gay bars and clubs at The Puttman, a boutique design hotel offering stunning self-catering suites, a 24-hour gym and high-end amenities.

- Most of Hong Kong’s gay bars and clubs are located in Causeway Bay and the Central District entertainment zone (SoHo) on Hollywood Road area and Wan Chai on Hong Kong Island, Causeway Bay District of across Victoria Harbor in the Tsim Sha Tsui district around Nathan Road of Kowloon.
- Middle Bay, a small area next to Repulse Bay on Hong Kong Island, the most popular gay beach, is accessible by taxi or a short walk from Repulse. Walk a little further to find another gay section at South Bay Beach.
- Lantau Island’s south coast has a beautiful long stretch of sand called Cheung Sha Beach, where gay sunbathers spread their towels next to a rocky outcrop bisecting the beach.
