TPRF Taipei Rainbow Festival 2026
Taipei Rainbow Festival, or TRPF for short, is an annual three-day event held during the Taiwan Pride celebrations.
Taipei Rainbow Festival 2026 – TPRF
Six days of outdoor parties, drag performances, DJs and rainbow markets take over Taipei’s famous Red House gay district for Taiwan Pride. Taipei Rainbow Festival, known as TPRF, brings together LGBTQ+ brands, local performers and international visitors for one of the city’s biggest free Pride celebrations.
- Stay close to the festival at WESTGATE Hotel, just steps from Ximen MRT Station and a short walk from the Red House. Its exceptionally convenient location makes it easy to return to your room between the afternoon markets and evening parties.
The Event
- Next Edition: Thursday, October 29, 2026 To Sunday, November 1, 2026.
- Main Festival: Saturday 31st October and Sunday 1st November, from 13:00 to 21:00.
- Highlights: Outdoor DJ sets, drag performances, LGBTQ+ shopping, rainbow-friendly brands, pop-up bars and cultural activities.
- Venue: Ximen Red House North Square and the plaza outside Ximen MRT Station Exit 1.
- Admission: Free.
- Organised by TPRF, with support from Taipei City Government’s Department of Cultural Affairs and the Taipei Culture Foundation’s Red House.

What to Expect
TPRF is an outdoor festival centred on Ximending, Taipei’s main gay nightlife district. During Pride week, the streets around the Red House fill with visiting partygoers, market stalls and pop-up bars.
- Rainbow Market: Shop for clothing, accessories, artwork and products from LGBTQ+ designers and businesses.
- Live Entertainment: Drag queens, dancers, DJs and local performers take to the outdoor stage during the main weekend.
- Social Scene: The Red House’s surrounding gay bars provide plenty of places to meet friends before and after the performances.
- Pride Saturday: Many visitors return to Ximending after the main parade for the evening celebrations.
- Free Entry: The festival is open to everyone, making it an accessible alternative to Taipei’s ticketed circuit parties.
The main stage programme is concentrated around the final weekend, while the earlier days focus on shopping, community stalls and smaller activities.

- Ximen Red House is one of Taipei’s best-known cultural landmarks and the centre of its gay nightlife district.
- Built in 1908 during the Japanese colonial period, the distinctive red-brick building originally operated as a public market. Today, it houses creative businesses, exhibitions and performance spaces.
- The surrounding North Square and adjacent plaza become the main festival grounds during TPRF, with temporary stalls, lighting installations and a stage for weekend performances.
- The Red House is also surrounded by outdoor gay bars, many with terrace seating overlooking the pedestrian square.
Getting There:
- MRT: Take the Blue or Green Line to Ximen Station.
- Exit: Use Exit 1 for the festival plaza.
- From Taipei Main Station: One stop on the Blue Line.
- From Taipei City Hall: Take the Blue Line directly to Ximen, approximately 20 minutes.
Before and After the Festival
Ximending’s gay bars are clustered around the Red House, making it easy to move between the festival and nearby venues.
- Café Dalida – A longstanding gay bar with a spacious outdoor terrace overlooking the Red House square. Known for cocktails, drag performances and a mixed local and international crowd.
- Commander D – A fetish-oriented gay bar with darker interiors, themed nights and a predominantly male crowd. Popular with leather and gear enthusiasts.
- Locker Room – A gay bar known for male dancers, themed entertainment and a younger, party-focused crowd.
The Red House bars are busiest on Friday and Saturday evenings, particularly after the main Pride parade.
Taiwan Pride Weekend
- TPRF takes place alongside Taiwan’s annual LGBTQ+ Pride celebrations, one of the largest Pride events in Asia.
- The main Taiwan Pride Parade takes place on Saturday 31st October 2026, departing Taipei City Hall Plaza at 14:05.
- The parade is held in the eastern part of the city, while TPRF is based in Ximending to the west.
- Allow approximately 20 to 30 minutes to travel between the two areas by MRT, depending on crowds.
- Taipei also hosts several large circuit events over Pride weekend, including X-Formosa Rainbow Music Festival.
Where to Stay for Taipei Rainbow Festival
Ximending is the most convenient neighbourhood for TPRF, with the Red House, gay bars and festival stalls all within walking distance. Hotels near Ximen MRT Station also offer direct connections to the main Pride parade area.
- WESTGATE Hotel – The closest of our four recommendations to the festival. Just outside Ximen MRT Station, with well-finished rooms, comfortable beds and a practical location for returning between events. Some rooms face internal areas rather than the street, so check the category before booking.
- Sotetsu Grand Fresa Taipei Ximen – A modern Japanese-style hotel opposite Ximending, with notably good soundproofing, spacious bathrooms and direct access to Ximen Station. Particularly appealing for visitors who want a comfortable night’s sleep without sacrificing proximity to the nightlife.
- amba Taipei Ximending – Set above the Eslite shopping complex on Wuchang Street, with larger-than-average rooms for this part of Taipei and an excellent breakfast. The surrounding pedestrian streets are full of shops and restaurants, while the Red House is approximately seven minutes away on foot.
- citizenM Taipei North Gate – Smartly designed rooms with large beds, blackout blinds and tablet-controlled lighting. The 24-hour lounge and bar are useful after late parties, while Taipei Main Station and Ximending are both within walking distance. Rooms are compact, with limited storage for longer stays.
