Fuchsia Fest brings three nights of high-energy LGBTQ+ parties to Washington DC, featuring top DJs, huge venues and the city’s leading queer party producers.
- Logan Circle is the most comfortable base for LGBTQ+ visitors, with the greatest concentration of gay-owned bars, cafés and businesses around 17th Street and 14th Street.
The Event
- Next Edition: Friday 18th September – Sunday 20th September, 2026.
- The inaugural edition features BRÜT, Flashy, Glitterati and Freakquency.
- Events move between three venues in U Street, Ivy City and Shaw.
- Friday opens with BRÜT at the newly redesigned ICON.
- Saturday’s main event, EAT IT UP!, takes over the multi-acre BERHTA complex.
- The weekend finishes with a four-hour after-hours session at Flash.
- DJs confirmed for BRÜT include Dan Darlington, Chris Cox of Thunderpuss and Jason James.
- Part of the weekend’s proceeds supports The Cherry Fund and local organisations providing mental and physical health services to Washington’s LGBTQ+ community.
Where to stay for Fuchsia Fest?
Logan Circle and U Street are the best bases for the weekend. You will be close to ICON, Flash and much of Washington’s current LGBTQ+ nightlife. BERHTA is the outlier, sitting farther northeast in Ivy City, but it remains an easy rideshare journey.
- Logan Circle: Best all-round choice. Walkable to gay venues around 14th Street, 17th Street and U Street. ICON is around 10 -20 minutes on foot from many hotels; Flash is a short rideshare away.
- U Street and Shaw: Best for party access. Both ICON and Flash are nearby, with Metro stations, restaurants and late-night food within walking distance.
- Dupont Circle: Best for first-time visitors who want sightseeing, established gay bars and easy daytime transport. Expect a 10-minute rideshare to ICON or Flash and around 20 minutes to BERHTA.

BERHTA
- BERTHA – A multi-acre indoor and outdoor arts and performance complex with room for festival-size production and a much larger crowd.
- The scale makes this the right home for Saturday’s headline party, EAT IT UP!
- Located away from the main tourist and gay districts, north of Union Market; plan your return trip before entering.
- Rhode Island Avenue–Brentwood Metro station is roughly a ten-minute walk, but rideshare is the better choice late at night. Saturday’s trip from BERHTA to Flash should take roughly 10–15 minutes by car when traffic is light. Leave enough time for queues and security checks.
- District: Ivy City.
- Nearby hotel: Hotel Nell – Union Market – a modern hotel near Union Market, with a short rideshare journey to BERHTA.
FLASH
- FLASH – A serious three-level electronic-music venue with a powerful sound system, intimate main club and rooftop Green Room.
- The compact dance floor suits an after-hours crowd much better than a vast warehouse space.
- Located on Florida Avenue, between Shaw and U Street, within easy reach of several gay bars.
- The surrounding area stays active late, making it easier to find transport after the 8 am finish.
- District: Shaw.
- Nearby hotel: Arlo Washington DC – a smart central stay close to the Convention Center, around five minutes from Flash by rideshare.
Getting Around to the Parites and the Gay Districts
- Washington’s LGBTQ+ nightlife is spread across Dupont Circle, Logan Circle, U Street and Shaw. The old 17th Street gay district remains worth visiting, but many newer bars and queer spaces sit farther east.
- Use the Metro for daytime journeys and early evening arrivals. U Street station serves ICON; Shaw–Howard University station is the most useful stop for Flash.
- September can still be hot and humid. Wear light clothing between venues and use the clothes check at BRÜT for jackets or streetwear.
