Calgary Pride 2026

Calgary Pride brings one of Canada’s largest Pride celebrations to the city each September, with a week-long series of parties, cultural events, performances and community gatherings, culminating in the colourful Calgary Pride Parade.

  • Enjoy chic rooms, a heated outdoor pool and a prime Beltline location at Hotel Arts Calgary, a 15-minute walk from the Pride parade route and downtown celebrations.

The Event

  • Next Edition: Monday 31st August to Sunday 6th September 2026
  • Calgary Pride has celebrated the city’s LGBTQ+ community for over 35 years
  • Previous editions have attracted 60,000+ festival visitors and 110,000+ parade spectators, with hundreds of groups taking part in the celebrations.
  • Events take place across the city, with much of the action concentrated in and around Downtown Calgary.
  • 2026 introduces an expanded citywide format, replacing the focus on one central festival location with events at multiple venues.
  • Visiting for Pride? Stay at the stylish Le Germain Hotel Calgary, directly beside the Pride parade route, a 20-minute walk from Prince’s Island Park and around 20 minutes from the Beltline’s queer nightlife.

Calgary Pride Parade 2026

  • Next Edition: Sunday 6th September 2026 – The highlight of Pride Week is the Calgary Pride Parade.
  • The parade runs through Downtown Calgary along 9th Avenue SW, beginning at 5th Street SW and finishing at 4th Street SE in East Village. The official start time will be announced closer to the event.
  • For best spots to watch the parade, consider 9th Avenue & 5th Street SW – The official starting point, packed with energy as floats, performers and community groups begin the route.
  • Alternatively check out Calgary Tower & Fairmont Palliser, with dramatic city backdrops, nearby cafés and easy access from Centre Street CTrain Station.
  • The parade kicks off from 11 am.

Pride On The Island

Gay Calgary guide

  • Calgary’s queer scene is compact, friendly and scattered rather than centred on one gay village. The Beltline is the nightlife hub, Downtown is best for Pride and sightseeing, and Inglewood mixes breweries, performance spaces and alternative queer events.
  • Twisted Element – Calgary’s main gay club with two floors, DJs, drag and late-night parties; Beltline, 15 minutes from Calgary Tower.
  • Texas Lounge – Old-school gay bar known locally as “The Bunker”, attracting a friendly, mature crowd; Beltline, behind Model Milk on 17th Avenue.
  • Dickens – Alternative club hosting queer dance parties, drag, burlesque and the monthly Fake Mustache show; Downtown West, 15 minutes from Calgary Tower.
  • The Attic Bar & Stage – Intimate queer-friendly venue with cocktails, plant-based food and Calgary’s longest-running drag show; Inglewood, 10 minutes by taxi from Downtown.
  • Ship & Anchor – LGBTQ-friendly neighbourhood pub with a busy patio, live music, drag and Punk Rock Bingo; Beltline, on 17th Avenue SW.
