Altanta Gay Pride is one of the most important events of its kind to take place in the Southern United States.
Atlanta Gay Pride 2026
Atlanta Pride hosts the largest LGBTQ+ celebration in the Southeast, attracting over 350,000 people for a weekend of live shows, community marches, parties and one of America’s biggest Pride parades.
The free two-day festival takes over Piedmont Park in Midtown, finishing with the Starlight Cabaret, one of the largest outdoor drag shows in the United States.

- Atlanta Pride brings concerts, community marches and a marketplace to Midtown, with the main parade crossing the city on Sunday.
- The 2026 theme is Louder & Prouder. The organiser expects more than 350,000 visitors across the weekend, so a Midtown hotel gives you the easiest access to the park and the gay bars.
Where to stay and getting around
- Midtown, near Piedmont Park or Midtown MARTA Station, is the most practical base for the festival, parade finish and bar scene. Downtown works for Friday’s aquarium party but involves a train or ride to the park.
- The airport rail line serves Midtown without a change on many trains. Street closures and crowded rideshare pickups make MARTA useful on parade day.

- Friday 9th October 2026 from 7 pm to 11 pm – Events begin with the Official Atlanta Pride Kickoff Party, at the fantastic Georgia Aquarium on Friday.
- The aquarium is transformed for an adults-only celebration featuring DJs, performers, themed production and access to its major galleries.
- General admission is for guests aged 18 and over. The Lounge experience is restricted to guests aged 21 and over.
- Tickets start from $62.99 for standard admission after 31st July. Lounge admission starts from $139.99.The official after-party begins at 11 pm at The Heretic, featuring DJ Abel.

- Saturday 10th October – Monday 12th October, 2026 –Future Atlanta is one of the busiest late night gay clubs in the city at the revamped Underground Atlanta district and hosts several large events during its Xion Atlanta Pride Weekend including the Xion Afterparty.

- Saturday 10th October to Sunday 11th October 2026 – 10 am to 10 pm – Atlanta Pride festival takes over the stunning Piedmont Park all day on Saturday and is the focus of pride celebrations once the main parade finishes.
- Events include free entertainment on multiple stages at the festival grounds in Piedmont Park, as well as a Pride Marketplace featuring some 200 vendors and organisations from the greater Atlanta LGBT community.

Trans March
- Saturday 10th October 2026, 1.15 pm to 3 pm – A community march for trans and nonbinary visibility, open to participants and allies. Meet at the Charles Allen Gate.
Bi+Pan March
- Saturday 10th October 2026, 3 pm to 4.30 pm – A march celebrating bisexual and pansexual communities, open to participants and allies. Meet at the Charles Allen Gate.
Dyke March
- Saturday 10th October 2026, 4.30 pm to 6 pm – A trans-inclusive march bringing together women, femmes and allies. Meet at the Charles Allen Gate.
Atlanta Pride Parade
The Atlanta Pride Parade steps off at noon on Sunday 11th October near Civic Center MARTA Station, heads north on Peachtree Street, turns east onto 10th Street and finishes near the Charles Allen Gate of Piedmont Park. Organisers expect over 100,000 spectators.
- For a simpler arrival and an earlier look at the procession, take MARTA to Civic Center and stand along the first stretch of Peachtree Street.
- For Midtown energy and easy access to bars afterward, aim for Peachtree Street near 10th Street. Arrive early; the turn and park approach draw heavier crowds. This is a route-based recommendation, not a verified reserved viewing zone.
- For a park-focused day, watch the final stretch along 10th Street, then enter Piedmont Park. Expect slow movement near the Charles Allen Gate as the procession finishes.
Starlight Cabaret
- Sunday 11th October 2026 – The Starlight Cabaret traditionally closes Atlanta Pride on Sunday evening at Piedmont Park.
- The show brings together many of Atlanta’s leading drag performers for a large outdoor production on the festival’s main stage.
Gay Atlanta Districts
- The center of gay life in Atlanta is Midtown, but there are several other “gayborhoods” to be explored as well. You will find the heart of gay Atlanta at the intersection of Piedmont Avenue and 10th Street.
- Downtown is home to all of the great tourist attractions, venues, and sporting events at Mercedes-Benz Stadium. It’s also full of trendy art galleries and inspiring attractions.
- Westside is an up and coming neighborhood in West Midtown. Highlighted by Atlantic Station, the neighborhood has recently been revitalized and makes for a wonderful place to play with a great selection of restaurants in the Westside Provisions District.

Getting to Piedmont Park
- Piedmont Park is approximately a 15-minute walk from Midtown MARTA Station, served by the Red and Gold lines.
- Visitors can travel directly from Atlanta Airport to Midtown by MARTA without changing trains on many services.
- Limited paid parking is available at the SAGE Parking Facility, but it fills early. Street parking around the park is restricted, and illegally parked vehicles may be ticketed or towed.

The Atlanta LBGT populace is also partially responsible for the resurgence of Grant Park in the 1980s. The historic neighborhood was falling into ruins when members of the community started scooping up properties, renovating and restoring them to their original glory. This fever pitch trickled over into the neighborhoods of East Atlanta, Ormewood Park and the Old Fourth Ward. These are all eclectic, funky and tolerant neighborhoods, like most of Atlanta.
