The Party

- Georgia Aquarium have hosted this award winning event for the past several years. Meet old friends and new while exploring the largest aquarium in the Western Hemisphere.
- The music and jaw dropping décor are always set to dazzle. Experience a variety of music from some world class DJs scattered throughout different areas of the Aquarium.
- This event is an incredible way to kickoff the Atlanta Pride weekend festivities.
- Party runs from 7 pm to 11 pm.
The Line Up
The 2026 edition mixes visiting circuit talent with some of Atlanta’s best-known local DJs.
DJ Set DJ Russ Rich San Francisco DJ bringing a special Taylor Swift-inspired set to the Aquarium. DJ TDON Atlanta favourite joining the main Pride Kickoff lineup. DJ GOONZ Performing inside the VIP Lounge. DJ Seth Breezy Returns with an opening set from one of the Aquarium’s immersive underwater locations. What to Expect
- This is one of those Pride parties where the venue is every bit as memorable as the DJs.
- Rather than putting everyone into one conventional nightclub, the party spreads through Georgia Aquarium, letting you move between music, drinks and the major galleries throughout the evening.
- The Aquarium’s huge viewing windows and underwater exhibits become part of the production, with lighting and music transforming the space after regular visitor hours.
- Arrive early. Four hours passes quickly when you are moving between the galleries, DJs and bars, and this is an event worth exploring rather than arriving for the final hour.
Georgia Aquarium
- Georgia Aquarium is at 246 Ivan Allen Jr Boulevard NW in Downtown Atlanta, beside Centennial Olympic Park.
- The Aquarium contains more than 11 million gallons of water across its galleries and is one of Atlanta’s signature attractions.
- For Pride night, the family attraction changes character completely. Lighting, music and DJs take over the public spaces, creating an adults-focused evening without losing access to the spectacular aquarium exhibits.
- The location is particularly convenient if you are staying in Downtown Atlanta, with several hotels within walking distance.
After the Aquarium
- The official Aquarium party finishes at 11 pm, which leaves plenty of time to continue into Atlanta’s Pride nightlife.
- The official Pride programme lists an Aquarium Kickoff Afterparty at The Heretic from 9 pm to 3 am, with DJ Abel. Head there after the Aquarium if you want to move directly into one of the weekend’s larger gay dance parties.
- For a less circuit-focused finish, head towards Midtown Atlanta, home to several of Atlanta’s established LGBTQ+ venues.
Gay Bars Before & After the Party
- Blake’s on the Park – 227 10th Street NE. Long-running Midtown gay bar with DJs, dancers and drag shows. A good option for drinks earlier in the day or for continuing after the Aquarium.
- Woofs Atlanta – 494 Plasters Avenue NE. Atlanta’s gay sports bar, with food, drinks and a relaxed LGBTQ+ crowd. Better suited to an easy start before the bigger Pride parties.
- Mixx Atlanta – 1492 Piedmont Avenue NE. LGBTQ+ lounge and entertainment venue with a main bar, dance floor, stage and enclosed patio. It gets progressively busier later in the evening.
For the main Pride weekend atmosphere, Midtown Atlanta remains the most useful base for bars and the celebrations around Piedmont Park.
Where to Stay for the Aquarium Pride Party
Stay in Midtown Atlanta if you’re attending the full Pride weekend. You’ll be close to the gay bars and Piedmont Park, with Downtown and Georgia Aquarium a short ride away.
- Loews Atlanta Hotel – Smart four-star Midtown hotel close to Piedmont Park and the gay bars. Spacious rooms, spa facilities and an excellent location make this my pick for the full Pride weekend.
- Renaissance Atlanta Midtown Hotel – Contemporary Midtown hotel close to restaurants, nightlife and MARTA, with easy access to both Piedmont Park and Downtown.
- AC Hotel Atlanta Downtown – Pick this if the Aquarium party is your priority. The hotel is beside Centennial Olympic Park and within easy walking distance of Georgia Aquarium.
- The Ritz-Carlton Atlanta – Five-star Downtown option with spacious rooms and a polished city-hotel feel, close to the Aquarium and Atlanta’s major Downtown attractions.
For the entire Atlanta Pride weekend, Midtown Atlanta is our preferred base. If you’re visiting mainly for the Aquarium party, Downtown Atlanta puts you closer to Friday night’s event.
Atlanta Pride Weekend
- The Aquarium Kickoff launches a full weekend of Atlanta Pride celebrations.
- The Pride Festival takes over Piedmont Park on Saturday 10th and Sunday 11th October 2026, with entertainment, community events and the Pride Marketplace.
- The Atlanta Pride Parade takes place on Sunday 11th October, beginning at noon and making its way towards Piedmont Park.
- Several large circuit and club events run across the weekend, so Friday’s Aquarium party works particularly well as the opening event before the bigger Saturday and Sunday celebrations.
Tickets
- Tickets are sold through Atlanta Pride and Georgia Aquarium.
- General Admission provides access to the Pride party and Aquarium galleries plus two drink tickets.
- The 21+ Lounge ticket adds a private lounge, premium open bar and light bites.
- This is one of the signature events of Atlanta Pride weekend, so advance booking is recommended.

The Atlanta gay population lives, works and plays all over the city and even into the suburbs. Midtown has several of the city’s most popular gay bars like Blake’s, Burkhart’s Pub, Bulldogs and Swinging Richards. The Atlanta LBGT populace is also partially responsible for the resurgence of Grant Park in the 1980s. The historic neighborhood was falling into ruins when members of the community started scooping up properties, renovating and restoring them to their original glory. This fever pitch trickled over into the neighborhoods of East Atlanta, Ormewood Park and the Old Fourth Ward. These are all eclectic, funky and tolerant neighborhoods, like most of Atlanta.
