Gay Days Anaheim turns a Disneyland weekend into a gathering of LGBTQ+ visitors in red shirts, with shared rides, group photos and evening entertainment beyond the parks.
- Gay Days is one of the most popular weekends at Disney, so book your hotel well in advance. Stay at the pool party host hotel, the Anaheim Majestic Garden.
The Weekend
- Next Edition: Awaiting dates – Awaiting dates
- Founded in 1998, Gay Days Anaheim attracts over 30,000 guests each year, according to the organiser.
- Attracting Disney fans, couples, friends, families, bears and bear admirers joining the regular park crowds.
- This is an independently organised event. Disneyland and Disney California Adventure remain open to the public, with red shirts helping participants recognise one another.
- The weekend combines park meetups with separately ticketed shows and parties.
- You can join the park gatherings without buying a Gay Days party package.
- Bring a red shirt, comfortable shoes and a portable charger.
- Plan a hotel break between a full park day and late-night entertainment.
- Full schedule to be confirmed.
Where to Stay
Stay in Anaheim for the event weekend. A nearby room makes early park starts, afternoon breaks and the return from evening shows easier. Add West Hollywood before or after the weekend for a separate Los Angeles nightlife stay.
- Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel and Spa – The premium choice for convenience, with its own entrance into Disney California Adventure and Tenaya Stone Spa. It housed the 2026 Welcome Center and several shows; the 2027 event venues remain unconfirmed. Check the organiser’s hotel offers when the new edition launches.
- SunCoast Hotel Anaheim – An outdoor infinity pool and a choice of standard and oversized suites give you space to recover between park visits. Its South Clementine Street location suits guests splitting their time between the resort and evening entertainment around GardenWalk.
- Hotel 414 Anaheim – A smaller hotel on West Ball Road with an outdoor pool and complimentary parking. In-room refrigerators and microwaves make it practical for a longer stay or a road trip. Plan your route to the park entrance rather than judging access by the hotel’s proximity to the resort boundary.
Saturday Highlights
- The main event is the Gay Day at Disneyland, held on the Saturday of the weekend, from 8am until 11pm, complete with the famous Gay Days Scavenger hunt. Don’t miss the trip on the Big Red Boat at 11am, a great way to mix and mingle.
- GayDays world-famous group photo is at 3pm at the Sleeping Beauty Castle.
- Saturday night’s highlight includes the Kingdom Party at 10pm featuring guest DJs and Drag Acts at the House of Blues, Anaheim.
Sunday Highlights
- On Sunday enjoy Gay Days at Disney’s California Adventure on Buena Vista Street from 8am to 6pm. Enjoy the bear run at 11am by the big bear statue, and the photo meetup on Pixar Pier at 2pm.
The Venues
- Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel and Spa – 1600 South Disneyland Drive. A resort hotel beside Downtown Disney, with meeting rooms used for Gay Days shows and registration in the previous edition. Confirm the room on your event ticket.
- House of Blues Anaheim – 400 West Disney Way, Suite 337, at Anaheim GardenWalk. The venue includes a Music Hall, the smaller Parish room, a restaurant and bar, and the Foundation Room lounge. The ticket identifies which space hosts your event.
Gay Nightlife Beyond the Resort
Orange County’s gay venues are spread across several cities. The following Costa Mesa options require transport from Anaheim; leave space in your itinerary for the trip and check the venue’s current programme.
- Tin Lizzie Saloon – 752 Saint Clair Street, Costa Mesa. A longstanding gay cocktail lounge with red Victorian interiors, wine, spirits and house cocktails. Pick it for a bar evening with conversation rather than a large club night.
- Strut Bar and Club – 719 West 19th Street, Costa Mesa. An LGBTQ+ club with DJs, drag entertainment, a main club floor and a smoking patio. Its separate Birdcage Lounge offers a smaller cocktail setting.
Extend Your Stay
- West Hollywood works best as a separate stop for the bars around Santa Monica Boulevard. Avoid building the Anaheim weekend around a fixed journey time from Los Angeles; traffic can change the trip substantially.
- Explore gay events in Los Angeles for ideas before or after your Disney visit.
