The White Party started out as a private cocktail and croquet tournament in 1981. Now it’s the anticipated event of Labour day Weekend.

The Venue – Delft Haven

• White Party takes place at Delft Haven, a private waterfront property in Provincetown’s West End.
• The setting is a major part of the event: gardens, waterfront views and an outdoor afternoon format rather than a conventional club or hotel ballroom.
• Delft Haven is approximately a 15-minute walk from the Boatslip, making it easy to continue directly to Tea Dance once White Party finishes.
• The West End is quieter and more residential than central Commercial Street, so respect neighbouring properties when arriving and leaving.
• This is a private-property event with controlled admission. Don’t turn up expecting to purchase entry casually at the gate.

What to Wear

White Party is one Provincetown event where the crowd takes the dress brief seriously.

• White is the theme, but there is no need to keep things understated.
• Resort wear, swimwear, sailor looks, feathers, hats, harnesses and elaborate handmade outfits all appear during the afternoon.

• The Atlantic House – Better known locally as A-House, with a history stretching back generations and a crowd that becomes progressively more club-focused later at night.
• Shipwreck Lounge – Located at The Brass Key Guesthouse, 67 Bradford Street. A polished cocktail bar with indoor seating and an outdoor courtyard, popular for pre-dinner drinks and an easy start to the evening before heading to Commercial Street.

Stay close to Commercial Street in the West End or town centre. White Party, Boatslip and most of Provincetown’s gay nightlife will then be accessible on foot.
