The annual Sitges Night of fire (Nit de Foc in Catalan) is a spectacular fire parade held during the weekend before the Santa Tecla festival celebrations.

Sitges Night of Fire marks the start of the Santa Tecla Festival celebrations, the town’s second biggest celebration after Fiesta Mayor in August.

- Next Edition: Saturday 19th September, 2026 – Nestled along the coast from Barcelona, the charming town of Sitges hosts one of the most exhilarating events in Spain – the Nit de Foc, or Night of Fire. This thrilling evening serves as the prelude to the Santa Tecla festival, held the following weekend.
- The Nit de Foc is a night filled with excitement and tradition. Local teams from Sitges and nearby towns dress as devils and mythical fire-beasts, wielding drums and catherine wheels mounted on spikes and pitchforks. The parade winds through the town’s narrow, white-washed lanes, creating a mesmerizing spectacle.
- As drummers set a thumping tribal beat that echoes off the walls, ribbons of bangers and fireworks strung just above head height are ignited simultaneously. This creates an overwhelming cacophony of bangs and booms, accompanied by stunning cascades of sparks. Brave revelers dance in and out of these fiery displays, adding to the evening’s anarchic joy.
- Paraders set off multiple catherine wheels, enveloping participants in whistling showers of sparks. The event feels both meticulously organised and wildly spontaneous. It’s an experience that’s hard to find elsewhere, especially in places with stringent health and safety regulations.
- The Nit de Foc is a must-see for anyone visiting Sitges during this time. It’s a celebration of fire, community, and unrestrained joy.

The Schedule
- The night is divided into four parts and kicks off at 7.30pm – 2026 Routes to be confirmed.
- 19.30 – Timbalada – The drummers begin marching from the centre of town to the town hall.
- 20.30 – Espetegafoc – A taste of what to expect as the fire beasts make their way through the streets with fireworks & drums.
- 21.30 – Correfoc – The Main Event of “Hot Fire”, a spectacular parade of beasts and fire.
- 23.30 – Concerts Nit de Foc – Festivities end with the annual Nit de Foc Concert featuring live bands and vocal performances on La Fragata Beach.
