Pink Lake celebrates 20 years on the shores of Lake Wörthersee with a week of beach days, lakeside parties and one of Austria’s most distinctive LGBTQ festivals.

• Pink Lake returns to Pörtschach am Wörthersee for its 20th-anniversary celebration.
• The festival draws LGBTQ visitors from Austria, Germany, Switzerland, Italy, Slovenia and across Europe.
• Its appeal comes from the setting: warm lake water, mountain views and a compact resort where afternoons at the beach lead naturally into evening parties.
• Pink Lake has grown from a four-day gathering into a week-long festival. The headline celebrations take place from Thursday through Saturday, with beach sessions and smaller events filling the days around them.
• The full anniversary programme is still being prepared. The organisers have confirmed the return of the Beats Radio Beach Club, the traditional Almrausch Party, the Pink Lake Club Night and the three-ship Boat Cruise Party.

Beats Radio Beach Club

• The Beats Radio Beach Club is held on Flower Island inside Promenadenbad Pörtschach.
• Festival guests spend the day swimming, sunbathing and meeting friends beside the lake. DJs provide relaxed daytime sets, supported by a bistro, cocktails and water-sports activities.
• Admission requires a valid festival wristband.

Almdudler Almrausch Party

• The Almdudler Almrausch Party brings Austrian tradition and queer camp together in the gardens and courtyard of Hotel Schloss Leonstain.
• Guests arrive in lederhosen, dirndls and playful alpine outfits for live music, drag, DJs and hearty Austrian food. The early outdoor section has a sociable beer-garden feel before the party moves into its later-night programme.
• This is one of Pink Lake’s signature events and a good night for first-time visitors to meet the wider festival crowd.

Pink Lake Club Night

• The anniversary Club Night takes over Fritz Club in Klagenfurt.
• Enjoy a full-scale club production with guest DJs, performers and go-go dancers.
• The music moves from commercial dance and house into harder late-night sets.
• Klagenfurt is around 15 kilometres from Pörtschach.
• Festival shuttle details and departure times will be released with the full programme.

Pink Lake Boat Cruise Party

• The Boat Cruise Party is the main event of the weekend.

• Three Wörthersee ships depart from the Pörtschach-Werzer landing stage, each offering its own DJ and musical style.
• The vessels meet on the lake during the cruise, creating three connected party floors surrounded by mountain and sunset views.
• A pre-boarding gathering normally begins beside the landing stage before departure.
• The cruise lasts approximately three hours and returns to Pörtschach, followed by an after-party close to the promenade.
• Boat capacity is fixed and cruise tickets are among the fastest festival options to sell.

Getting to Pörtschach

• Klagenfurt Airport is approximately 20 kilometres from Pörtschach.
• Ljubljana, Graz and Salzburg provide further flight options, followed by a train or rental-car journey.
• Pörtschach has direct rail connections with Klagenfurt and Villach.
• The station is within walking distance of the promenade and many hotels.
• Festival shuttles operate for selected events outside Pörtschach.

Where to stay?

• Central hotels around the promenade and railway station place you within walking distance of most local events. Pörtschach is a small resort, but lakeside rooms sell quickly during late August.
• Velden offers luxury resorts, restaurants and a livelier evening scene, but it is around 20 minutes away by train or taxi. It works better for guests arriving by car or anyone happy to travel between towns.
• Klagenfurt is practical for the Club Night and airport access, yet it lacks the sociable daytime atmosphere found around the Pörtschach promenade.
