The Black Room is a Sinful Sunday night party in Barcelona; that’s not for the faint of heart!
The Black Room is a Sinful Sunday night party in Barcelona; that’s not for the faint of heart! Expect eye-popping performances and a dark cruisy atmosphere.
- Stay just steps from the club at the Iberostar Selection Paseo de Gracia 4 Sup, rated “Fabulous” by guests with a city centre location, spectacular rooftop pool and spacious rooms.
The Party
- Next Edition: Sunday, November 8, 2026.
- The Black Room runs from around midnight to 5 am at City Hall Barcelona.
- Playing a mix of house and electronic sounds with resident and guest DJs.
- Complete with Go-go dancers, erotic performances and themed shows throughout the night.
- The crowd is predominantly gay male, with locals mixing with weekend visitors.
- There’s a dedicated dark room for guys looking for something cruisier away from the dance floor.
- Different editions introduce their own themes, performers and guest DJs.
What to Expect
- Black Room fills a useful gap in Barcelona’s gay weekend – Sunday night.
- The atmosphere is sexier and more male-focused than a mainstream Barcelona club, without turning the entire night into a fetish event. Expect plenty of shirtless guys, dancers on stage and a crowd that becomes cruisier as the night progresses.
- Music stays firmly club-focused, moving through house and electronic sounds rather than relying on wall-to-wall pop.
- The combination of dancing, shows and a dark room means you can treat it as a straightforward Sunday club night or explore its darker side.
The Venue – City Hall Barcelona
- The party takes over City Hall Barcelona at Rambla de Catalunya 2-4, just above Plaça de Catalunya.
- City Hall occupies a converted theatre in the centre of Barcelona.
- The main room retains the proportions of the original performance space, giving the party a proper stage for dancers and shows.
- Its sound and lighting setup is designed for house, techno and electronic club nights.
- Black Room adds its own gay production and cruising elements to the regular venue layout.
- Plaça de Catalunya and Passeig de Gràcia are close by.
- The Gaixample gay district is within easy reach, making pre-party drinks straightforward.
Before The Black Room – Gay Gaixample
- Sunday evening is a good time to start in the Gaixample before heading towards City Hall. Most of Barcelona’s established gay bars are concentrated around Muntaner, Diputació, Consell de Cent, Casanova and Villarroel.
- Punto BCN – Carrer de Muntaner 65. One of Barcelona’s long-established gay bars, with a predominantly male crowd and an easy social atmosphere. A good place to meet friends before moving on.
- Moeem Barcelona – Carrer de Muntaner 11. Gay music bar mixing pop, commercial sounds and reggaetón with DJs. It starts relatively social and becomes livelier later in the evening.
- Honey Bears Barcelona – Carrer de la Diputació 203. Bear-focused gay bar attracting bears, cubs, daddies and admirers. A particularly good fit if you prefer a more male-focused crowd before Black Room.
- Night Barcelona – Carrer de la Diputació 161. Gay cruise bar with drinks, cruising spaces and a considerably sexier atmosphere. Choose this one if you’re looking for a harder start to the evening.
- Strass Barcelona – Carrer de Villarroel 68. Gay bar with music, drinks and a lively late-night crowd in the heart of the Gaixample.
- For a simple Sunday route, start around Muntaner or Diputació and move towards City Hall later. Most of these bars open from early evening and continue well past midnight on Sundays.
Gay Barcelona on Sunday
- Barcelona doesn’t shut down after Saturday night. Sunday remains busy across the Gaixample, particularly during Pride, Circuit Festival and major holiday weekends.
- Black Room works particularly well for visitors arriving for a long weekend. Spend Sunday at the beach or exploring the city, have dinner, head into the Gaixample for drinks and save the serious partying for later.
- For other events during your trip, check our Gay Barcelona Guide and Barcelona Gay Pride.
Where to Stay
- Stay in the Gaixample for the best combination of gay nightlife, restaurants and access to City Hall.
- The Corner Hotel – Smart contemporary hotel in Eixample with a rooftop pool and terrace, within easy reach of the Gaixample bars. A strong choice for guests who want the nightlife nearby but prefer a quieter hotel setting.
- H10 Casanova – Contemporary hotel on Gran Via with a rooftop plunge pool and easy access to the bars around Casanova and Diputació.
- NH Collection Barcelona Gran Hotel Calderón – Upscale hotel on Rambla de Catalunya with a rooftop pool. A particularly convenient choice for City Hall and Passeig de Gràcia.
- Hotel Cram – Boutique hotel in the Gaixample with contemporary rooms and a rooftop pool, surrounded by many of the district’s gay bars.
Black Room Tips

- The dark room gives the party a cruisier edge beyond the main dance floor.
- Themed editions can change the music, performers and atmosphere.
- Check the promoter’s latest announcement before heading out for any changes to opening hours or guest DJs.
