Washington’s Gay Pride Parade and festival, attracting over 200,000 visitors to the nation’s capital, the parade which is held on the Saturday.

- The latest parade travelled through Shaw, Logan Circle, Downtown and Penn Quarter, running from 3pm to 7.30pm.
- Expect community groups, performers, floats and LGBTQ+ organisations representing the capital and surrounding region.

Where to Watch the Parade

- Downtown stretches of 14th Street – look for a position away from crowded bar entrances, with a Metro station accessible from your side of the route.
The 17th Street Block Party
- Saturday 12th June 2027 – The Block Party brings Pride back to Dupont Circle’s historic gay social scene, with outdoor entertainment, food and drinks.
- Make it your pre-parade meeting point or return afterwards for a less structured afternoon of socialising.
- Keep the block party’s timetable separate from the parade; the two events do not necessarily share the same streets.
Capital Pride Festival and Concert
- Sunday 13th June 2027 – Community exhibitors, performance stages, food and drinks on Pennsylvania Avenue NW.
- Festival runs from noon to 10pm, with free general admission and paid concert pit and VIP areas.
- The Capitol Sunset Party followed from 8pm to 10pm, keeping the celebrations going after the concert.

Capitol Sunset Dance Party
- Sunday 13th June 2027 – The Concert might be ending but the dancing continues at the “Capitol” Sunset Dance Party.
- Enjoy the electronica sounds of an international DJ sensation while you dance in the middle of America’s Main Street on Pennsylvania Ave., with the sun setting on the U.S. Capitol.
Gay Washington DC
All the gay bars and clubs in Washington host different party nights and themed events during the pride festivities. Most are located within walking distance or a short taxi ride from Pennsylvania Avenue.
- Dupont Circle: One of the most traditional gay neighborhoods in the area, Dupont Circle is full of interesting shops, cafes, bookstores, bars, and restaurants all geared toward the LGBTQ community.
- Capitol Hill: Capitol Hill is elegant and informed. Here you can find restaurants, markets, crafts, antiques, and all types of unique entertainment.
- Columbia Heights: Columbia Heights is a predominantly Latino area that welcomes the LGBTQ community with open arms. In the past five years, the area has been revitalized. It is home to as a weekly farmer’s market, some great delis and bakeries, the GALA Hispanic Theater, and Mexican Cultural Institute.
