Hello is Budapest’s ultimate gay pop party, a trashy pop night for Queers, Barbie Dolls, Aliens and their friends
Hello is Budapest’s ultimate gay pop party, a trashy pop night for Queers, Barbie Dolls, Aliens and their friends.
- Are you visiting Budapest for this event? Stay at the Leonardo Boutique Hotel Budapest M-Square, situated in the heart of the city and close to all the gay bars and clubs.
The Party
- Next Edition: Saturday, October 24, 2026 .
- HELLO returns to Toldi Klub from 11pm until 5am, bringing its unapologetically pop-focused queer party back to central Budapest.
- The October edition features Gango behind the decks, with a soundtrack built around pop divas, queer anthems, dance tracks and the sort of guilty pleasures that work far better at 2am than they ever do at home.
- HELLO has become one of Budapest’s regular queer pop nights, attracting a young, mixed LGBTQ+ crowd rather than focusing solely on gay men.
- The party describes its crowd as pop divas, QueeRebels, dreamers and style icons, which gives you a fair idea of the mood. Dress up if you feel like it, but this is much less rigid than a fetish or circuit party.
- HELLO occasionally creates special editions around individual pop icons and major dates, with previous parties dedicated to artists such as Kylie.
- The party is 18+, and Toldi Klub operates a right-of-admission policy.
- HELLO works particularly well for visitors who want a proper queer club night without the heavier circuit sound found at some of Budapest’s larger gay parties.
The Venue – Toldi Klub
- Toldi Klub – Bajcsy-Zsilinszky út 36-38, 1054 Budapest, in central Pest.
- Toldi is both a cinema and nightlife venue. Once the screenings finish, the building switches character, with its club space hosting electronic nights, live music and queer parties.
- HELLO uses the venue for its regular Budapest editions, giving the party a permanent home rather than moving between clubs each month.
- Its central location is one of the biggest advantages for visitors. St Stephen’s Basilica, the Opera district and Deák Ferenc tér are all nearby, with several of Budapest’s LGBTQ+ bars within a short taxi ride or walk.
- Toldi isn’t a permanent gay club, so the crowd and atmosphere can change completely depending on the event. On HELLO nights, the focus shifts firmly towards queer pop and LGBTQ+ nightlife.
Gay Budapest Before HELLO
Budapest doesn’t have one tightly defined gay district. Most of the established LGBTQ+ bars and clubs are spread across central Pest, particularly Districts V, VI and VII.
- Why not cafe and bar – Belgrád rakpart 3-4. Long-running LGBTQ+ café-bar beside the Danube, mixing daytime drinks with cocktails, karaoke and late-night events. It remains open in 2026 and runs until 3am on Friday and Saturday.
- Habroló Café & Bar – Síp utca 5. Smaller gay bar in the Jewish Quarter with a relaxed local crowd. It opens nightly and works well when you want somewhere social before moving on to HELLO.
- ALTEREGO – Dessewffy utca 33. Budapest’s established gay weekend club, with two dance floors, several bars and drag shows. Friday runs until 5am and Saturday until 6am.
- Coxx – Dohány utca 38. Men-only cruise club with bar, lockers, cabins and dedicated play areas. A very different proposition from HELLO, but useful for visitors looking for Budapest’s late-night cruising scene.
HELLO vs AlterEGO
- The two parties offer quite different nights. HELLO is the stronger choice for pop, a mixed queer crowd and a less conventional gay-club atmosphere, with Toldi giving the night an alternative edge.
- ALTEREGO leans closer to the traditional gay-club format, with drag shows, two dance floors and a predominantly male crowd. Since both operate late on Saturdays, pick the style that suits your night rather than trying to rush between them.

This “Paris of the East” has long been known as a gay center of Eastern Europe, but things have really taken off since reintegration with the West. There is no single gay neighborhood, but most gay-popular bars and clubs can be found in Pest in the 5th, 6th, 7th, and 9th districts, many within walking distance of one another. Defining lines aren’t drawn as sharply here as in the West – except at men’s saunas or cruise bars – and people mix more.
