Newcastle Pride celebrates sexuality and gender diversity in Newcastle, Lake Macquarie and the Hunter Region. Newcastle lies at the mouth of the Hunter River, approximately 105 miles, 2 hour drive (170 km) northeast of Sydney.
- When it comes to the best areas to stay in Newcastle, NSW, the CBD area and Newcastle East offer most of the cultural attractions and some fantastic beaches. The Waterfront Hotel Kuching offers amazing views and is right on the historic harbour front.
Pride NSW

- The Newcastle Pride Festival is an exciting, glamorous and “out n’ proud” series of events that aims to showcase to locals and visitors that Newcastle is a city of diversity, culture and beauty.
The Pride Parade
- Saturday, early in October – Awaiting dates – Nobby’s Beach to Honeysuckle Car Park, from 10.30am – 1pm. Departure 11.30.
- Dress in your brightest rainbow get-up and paint the Newcastle foreshore with a sea of pride! Whether you’re waving a flag, dancing in the streets, or simply cheering from the sidelines, your presence will make this celebration unforgettable.
Fair Day
- Saturday, in late October – Awaiting dates – – Gregson Park, Hamilton, from 11am – 6pm.
- The biggest gay day of the year, with a main stage, a new dedicated DJ dance space, Storytime with Wonder Mama, Glamorous Drag shows, non-stop performance art, live music, Doggywood Parade, Children and Youth Space, join the Tug of Love or Handbag Toss.
- Peruse the food stalls & vans, mixed retail stalls, LGBTIQA+ Community Stalls, The Red Torquettes motorcycles and much more.
- Tip: Bring shade, water, a rug or your sequinned banana chair, settle in and get ready for a wave of camp entertainment and rainbow coloured fun.
The Official After Party
- Saturday – Awaiting dates – Newy Hotel, 139 Maitland Rd, Islington, 7pm – 3.30am
- POOF DOOF + DYKE DOOF – Newcastle Pride has joined forces with POOF DOOF to bring you the dance party of 2024.
- Featuring a host of over 15 stars, guest Djs, gogos and more.
