Thanksgiving in Provincetown
- Thursday 28th November – Sunday 1st December 2024 – Events are clustered around The Crown and Anchor and The Canteen with daily shows and a Holiday Market taking pride of place.
- One event not to be missed is the lighting of the now famous Lobster Pot Christmas Tree on the Saturday evening of the Thanksgiving Weekend.
- The PTown Christmas tree becomes the heart of later celebrations including Holly Folly and First Light

PTown’s Turkey Trot
- Thursday, 28th Nov 2024 – Pilgrim Turkey Trot 5K to Benefit Helping Our Women, 9:00 am – 11:00 am
- The 10th Annual Provincetown Pilgrim 5K Trot is back!! Please gather your entire flock on Thanksgiving morning before your big feast! This event is a fun run and walking community event for all people and pets (costumes encouraged) along Ptown’s most charming street, Commercial St.
Canteen Holiday Market
- From Friday 29th Nov, 2024 – 11:00 am – 5:00 pm – The Holiday Market at Canteen
- A PTown holiday tradition – a cross between your favorite beach bar and a European Market – the Canteen’s back porch is lined with makers offering some incredible one of a kind gifts. Along with the shopping you’ll also find some incredible food + drink that you can enjoy indoors or out!
Lighting of the Lobster Pot
- Saturday, 30th Nov 2024 – 5.30 pm – 6.30 pm – Lopes Square
- The decorated trap installation was first created to bring light & joy while highlighting the hardworking Provincetown Lobstermen. It has continued for 20 years by the Julian Popko family & amazing volunteers.
Parties and Events
- Nov 29th and 30th 2024
- Crown and Anchor hosts a series of events including Pink Bingo on Friday at lunchtime, and a tribute to Bing Crosby on Saturday from 6pm.
- A-House – Come dance off that Turkey at one of Provincetown’s favorite institutions on Nov 25th & 26th.
