Kick Start your celebrations with a Gay Christmas Festival – Provincetown style!

Provincetown Holly folly, previously a weekend long festival in early December has expanded for the first time ever, through the entire month of December with expanded weekends featuring a fun holiday market, shopping, dance parties, sing-alongs, drag-bingo events and cultural activities to kick start your Christmas celebrations.

• Although it is off season, weekends in PTown fill up, especially for special events, so book your hotel in advance as you would in the Summer season. Check out the Foxberry Inn, a charming hotel with great rooms, excellent breakfast options and charming hosts.

The Event

• Next Edition: Friday 4th December, 2026 – Sunday 6th December, 2026 – with expanded events on the second and third weekends.
• Holly Folly, the oldest and largest LGBTQ+ holiday celebration in the nation, started in 1997 as a wonderful way for everyone to gather and celebrate the holiday season with their chosen family in Provincetown.

Holly Folly Follies

Boston Gay Men’s Chorus: Holigays!

Holly Folly Bingo

• Awaiting dates | 1pm – Crown and Anchor
• Silly, loud, a little chaotic, and full of holiday cheer.
• Drag hosts, big laughs, and a crowd ready to play.

Santa Speedo Run (Jingle Bell Run)

• Awaiting dates – 9:00 am – 12:00 pm – Get those abs in shape and perhaps meet the love of your life in the Jingle Bell/Santa Speedo Run, a 1 mile run down the center of town, with proceeds benefiting the Cape Cod Firefighter/EMS Cancer Relief Fund.
• One-horse-open-slay your way down Commercial Street in as little clothing as you dare for this frosty fun-run!
• Folks will gather at The Mews (429 Commercial Street) for coffee, strip down, and run through Provincetown to Lopes Square/the Lobster Pot Tree before climbing into their warmest onesie for the Jingle Bell Brunch at Bay Cafe (177 Commercial Street).

Snowball Bar Crawl

Holly Folly Gallery Stroll

The Lobster Pot Christmas Tree

• Official lighting, typically the Sunday following Thanksgiving.

Canteen Christmas Market

• The Canteen Christmas Market returns with a long-running holiday run from late November into New Year weekends, turning its space into a warm spot for food, drinks, and locally made gifts.
• A packed program rolls out across the new Gathering Hall with music, films, tea dances, workshops, and plenty of community energy.
• Sunday Spin Fros-Tea Dance brings a fresh highlight to the lineup, giving visitors a fun reason to drop by each week.

• Town Hall,  260 Commercial St – Grand old building, still an operating town hall, with offices on the lower floor. The community space and concert hall, complete with wraparound balcony host shows and performances throughout the year.
• Vault @ Crown & Anchor,  247 Commercial Street – The Vault is a landmark cruisy hangout for the Bear, Leather and Uniform crowds, with hot guys, pulsing music and boot-black station.
• Tin Pan Alley 269 Commercial Street – Restaurant, bar and piano lounge located in the historic center of Provincetown, serving seasonal American cuisine.
• Red Room – Events Venue, Nightclub and community function hall, Red Room does it all. Visitors can anticipate top-tier drag performances, LGBTQ+-focused musical events, and an impressive lineup of comedy acts. Plus their signature Underwear parties and theme nights.
