Hibernation Hamburg 2027

On the third weekend of January, the legendary Nordbären Bärenpaadiie XXL will attract more than 1600 bears and friends to the city of Hamburg in Germany.

Hamburg Bear Weekend Highlights: Big – Bigger – Bear!

  • Next Edition – Awaiting dates, Typically Thursday to Sunday in late January.
  • With everything from cozy saunas to bear-themed bowling and scenic harbour tours, there's something for every bear and their friends.
  • Events kick off with the Dragon Sauna Delight on Friday at 1 pm, followed by the Welcome Party at Uebel&Gefährlich from 9pm for a Bears and Friends Get Together.
  • Don't miss the timeless tradition of Bear Bowling on Saturday, followed by the Harbour Tour on the high seas featuring a 2-hour tour showcasing attractions like the Elbphilharmonie concert hall.
  • Saturday Night plays host to the BärenpaadiieXXL party, celebrating 25 years in 2026. Venue to be confirmed.
  • Events end on Sunday with the bear brunch.

The Main Party venue

  • Markthalle Hamburg will be opened in the evening for the Bärenfolk and its followers to the biggest bear party in Germany.

  • Two dancefloors, four DJs, a lounge with seating to chill out and a large foyer full of all the guys the bear world has to offer are waiting for you

  • Uebel&Gefährlich: A former war time bunker, now a club with two distinct club spaces on two different floors connected by an impressive spiral staircase.  A must visit when in Hamburg. 3-minute drive from St Pauli.
  • Markthalle Hamburg: Convention center located at Klosterwall,  it was designed by the architect Fritz Schumacher and built in 1913. The main hall can hold up to 1,000 people. 9-minute drive from St Pauli.
  • Körri Speisekontor: Fish & chips, currywurst & burgers at a contemporary stop known for its lavish Sunday brunch buffet. 10-minute drive from St Pauli.
