Provincetown Carnival is already one of the biggest events on the Provincetown calendar seeing thousands of people heading to the coast.

Provincetown Carnival – Cosmic Rodeo
- Next Edition Saturday 14th August, 2027 – Saturday 21st August, 2027.
- 2027 Theme confirmed: Cosmic Rodeo – the 49th edition.
- Created by the Provincetown Business Guild in 1978, Carnival is Ptown’s original summer celebration. It combines the scale of a Pride festival with theatrical costumes, themed parties and the free-spirited character of Provincetown.
- The carnival parade on Commercial Street is one of the most colourful we have ever attended and is held on the final Thursday of the celebrations.
- One of the most popular Cape Cod events, it attracts 90,000 spectators every year. So book your hotel in advance.
- The program typically begins with a costume or fashion event and builds through cruises, pool parties, bingo, drag shows, Tea Dances and large club nights before Thursday’s parade.
Ptown Carnival Schedule 2027
- Popular events and parties include include, The Costume Ball, a Boat Cruise, spectacular T Dances, pool parties at the Brass Key Guesthouse and the official closing party at the Crown & Anchor.

Carnival Parade
- Thursday 19th August, 2027 – 3 pm to 6 pm – Provincetown Carnival Parade begins at the Harbor Hotel (Snail Road) and marches down Commercial St, from Bradford St, through the downtown, to the intersection with Franklin St in the West End.
Feet on The Street
- Sunday 15th August, 2027 – Feet over the Street 5k Carnival Run and Walk – ‘Feet Over Front Street’ will stretch the entirety of Commercial Street (originally hailed as ‘Front Street’) giving you a start-to-finish, rainbow-railroad takeover of the main drag of the world’s premier queer travel destination.
- Events kick off at the Harbor Hotel.
The Sunset Cruise
- Sunday 15th August, 2027 – PTown Carnival – Sunset Cruise
- Enjoy amazing sunsets and enjoy a themed party cruise with some of the hottest boys in PTown all evening long.
- The cruise leaves at 3.15pm from MacMillan Pier.
Carnival Opening Party
- Saturday 14th August, 2027 – Carnival Opening Party at the Boatslip Resort.
Carnival Pool Party Brass Key
- Monday 17th August, 2027 – Carnival Pool Party – Join the sexiest folks at Carnival for a truly massive, one-of-a-kind experience. Dance the day away under the sun on the gorgeous grounds of the Brass Key Guesthouse – plenty of surprise performances jaw-dropping feats throughout the afternoon await.
