Ottawa is awash with rainbows in February as part of the Winterlude celebrations, bringing a touch of sparkle to the annual winter festival.

The Events
- Awaiting dates- Ottawa is home to some unique Winter festivals during Winterlude, a three-week series of events, parties, ice sculptures, skating and snow sports.

Glowing with Pride
- Awaiting dates – Glowing with Pride skate and get your glow on at City Hall’s Rink of Dreams.
- Dance to the music of guest DJs and see free live performances from 5pm to 6pm featuring fire-eaters, drag and an LGBT choir, skating and DJ from 4pm to 7pm, everyone welcome,
- This is a free event – Marion Dewar Plaza, 110 Laurier Ave W, Ottawa – 4pm-7pm
- Venue – Marion Dewar Plaza sits beside Ottawa City Hall and becomes the Rink of Dreams each winter, an open-air ice space surrounded by the lights of downtown, easy to reach on foot from the ByWard Market and Elgin Street, with plenty of nearby cafes for warming up after skating.

- Proudly Made: – From 5 pm to 8 pm at 60 ByWard Market – Explore a curated selection of queer owned businesses offering unique products and services. A wintery village of cabins in the heart of the Market.
- Followed by DJ Del Pilar: – From 5 pm – Groove to the beats of high energy and celebrate with the community as part of Winterlude 2025.
Drag on Ice
- Awaiting dates – The Synthetic Ice Rink on Willian Street – Enjoy dazzling performances and skate alongside talented local Drag Artists.
- Drag performances: 5pm, 6pm & 7pm! Public Skate with the Stars: 5:20pm, 6:20pm; 7:20pm! These are quick 20 minute shows – so come on time!
Family Pride on Sparks
- Awaiting dates – A Family Pride brunch served at Nates Deli, on Sparks Street to celebrate life, inclusivity, love and diversity during Winterlude.
- Le Germain Hotel, rated “Fabulous” by guests, with spacious rooms, a modern gym and perfect location. It is just steps from all the shows and events on Sparks Street.

- Sparks Street was converted into an outdoor pedestrian street in 1967, making it the earliest such street or mall in Canada.
- The street runs from Elgin Street east to Bronson Avenue, one block south of Parliament Hill and is home to unique shops and bustling restaurants.
