The Venue
- Qube – Via di Portonaccio 212, in eastern Rome’s Portonaccio/Casal Bertone area.
- This multi-level club suits Muccassassina’s mix of DJ rooms, stage performances and more intimate spaces, letting you move between different sides of the party.
- The organiser has introduced a renewed Festino techno room and cruising space for the current season. Check the night’s room programme before choosing where to settle.
- Qube sits away from the Colosseum’s gay bars and the historic centre. Plan a taxi between your evening drinks and the club, then arrange your return separately.
Before the Party
Spread your weekend between the Colosseum’s gay bars, cocktails in Monti and an aperitivo in Trastevere. Qube sits east of the centre, so treat these as separate starting points and take a taxi to the party.
- Coming Out – Via di San Giovanni in Laterano 8, beside the Colosseum. A gay café, restaurant and evening bar where you can gather your group over dinner and cocktails before Friday’s opening party.
- 101 Roma Club – Queer bar attracting a young, international crowd. A good second-night option for meeting fellow visitors and getting into the weekend’s social side before heading to Qube.
- Salotto42 – Piazza di Pietra 42, opposite Hadrian’s Temple. Stylish bookbar serving cocktails and food, suited to an early Saturday aperitivo after exploring the historic centre. A mixed city crowd rather than a dedicated gay venue.
- Freni e Frizioni – Via del Politeama 4, Trastevere. Cocktails in a former mechanic’s workshop, with a small piazza outside that gives the evening a sociable street-bar feel. Start here before dinner in Trastevere, leaving time to cross town for the party.
For Sunday, keep things leisurely with lunch and a stroll around Monti or the Colosseum, then head straight to Qube for the 7 pm opening.
Where to Stay
Choose the Colosseum/Celio area for gay bars and sightseeing, or Repubblica for a central base near Termini. Staying around Casal Bertone puts the club closer, with a less convenient location for exploring Rome on foot.
- Mercure Roma Centro Colosseo – Best for combining the weekend with the Colosseum and drinks around Via di San Giovanni in Laterano. Its Via Labicana location makes this a useful base for the city’s best-known gay meeting area. The rooftop pool is seasonal and is not a Halloween feature.
- Hotel Artemide – On Via Nazionale, with the Artemís Spa and Ambrosia rooftop restaurant. A good choice for couples planning proper dinners and some recovery time between parties.
- iQ Hotel Roma – A modern option near the Opera House, with a gym, sauna and rooftop terrace. Useful for a longer weekend with rail connections and central sightseeing on the agenda.
- Best Western Blu Hotel Roma – The practical party-focused option in Casal Bertone, in the same eastern part of Rome as Qube. Choose it to prioritise the club over walking access to the historic centre.
