The ultimate post-parade recovery party for Sydney Mardi Gras.
What began with a stereo and a couple of milk crates in a quiet Darlinghurst laneway has evolved into one of the highlights of the Mardi Gras program, attracting some top-drawer DJs for the ultimate post-parade recovery party. All good things must come to an end – and there’s no ending quite like Laneway.
- Stay close to the venue in Surry Hills. Feel like a local in your own apartment at the Best Western Plus Hotel Stellar, offering full suite amenities and just steps from the bustling and vibrant gay scene.
The Party
- Next Edition: Sunday 1sth March, 2026.
- Laneway is the official closing party for the annual Sydney Mardi Gras festival and parade.
- Laneway features the hottest DJs, surprise live performances, an eclectic mix of indoor and outdoor party spaces to dance, strut or take the edge off the night before.
- The party runs from 2 pm to 10 pm.
- Laneway takes over community favourite The Beresford from top to bottom, and spilling out onto Hill Street. Don’t miss the glittering gutter street party vibes.
- VIP tickets are available for access to the Mardi Gras VIP Bar at Upstairs Beresford, featuring an exclusive dance floor, bar and amenities.
The Venue
- The Beresford is one of Sydney’s most popular gay venues. Behind The Beresford’s art deco exterior beats the heart of a neighbourhood pub with a modern-Italian trattoria.
- The Beer Garden is a tranquil outdoor area where you’re sure to find locals enjoying their lazy summer afternoons over a drink and great food.
- For Laneway, the venue is transformed into one of the biggest party zones in the city.
- The party also takes over nearby Hill Street for truly “glittering gutter street party vibes”.
