The Venue
- The event takes place at The Knockdown Center, at 52-19 Flushing Ave., in Maspeth.
- The Knockdown Center is an art and performance space dedicated to cross-disciplinary projects and collaborations. This century-old building is famous for innovative and experimental programming in visual arts, performance, music and more.
- The area around the Knockdown Center, while primarily residential and industrial, has some LGBTQ-friendly spots and events, especially considering its proximity to Brooklyn and other parts of Queens.
- Nearby neighborhoods like Williamsburg and Bushwick in Brooklyn offer a vibrant scene. Notable spots include Metropolitan Bar, The Rosemont, and Happyfun Hideaway.
Getting to the venue
- Taxi or rideshare is the most convenient way to get to the venue, costing between 35 USD and 60 USD, depending on time and vehicle type.
- Subway – Option A: Take the L train towards Canarsie-Rockaway Pkwy.
- Option B: Take the M train towards Middle Village-Metropolitan Ave.
- Note: For both options, you’ll likely need to transfer at a convenient station from your starting point. The nearest subway station to Knockdown Center is the Jefferson St station on the L line or the Fresh Pond Rd station on the M line. From there, you can walk or take a short ride with a rideshare service.
