- Joe Fiore’s Furball brings bears, cubs, daddies and their admirers together during Washington DC’s Mid-Atlantic Leather weekend.
- Expect a night built around house music, hairy men and the chance to show off your favourite gear, with local regulars joining visitors in town for MAL.
- Get some mileage out of your leather, harness or jockstrap. Fetish gear is part of Furball’s appeal, and a little can go a long way.

The Venue
- ICON DC – A four-level LGBTQ+ venue with three event spaces, immersive performances, drag shows and late-night dance parties.
- Located at 2001 11th Street NW, on the corner of 11th and U Street in Washington DC’s historic U Street district.
- Take the Green or Yellow Metro line to U Street/African-American Civil War Memorial/Cardozo station. ICON DC is a two-minute walk from the 10th Street exit.
- ICON DC is approximately 0.6 miles (1 km) from the premier gay neighborhood, Logan Circle, home to some of the city’s best gay bars and nightlife spots.
Gay Washington DC
- Dupont Circle – One of the most traditional gay neighborhoods in the area, Dupont Circle is full of interesting shops, cafes, bookstores, bars, and restaurants all geared toward the LGBTQ community.
- Adams Morgan is another popular neighborhood, a multicultural neighborhood centered on the happening nightlife scene around 18th Street. The stretch buzzes with eclectic bars, music venues and international restaurants.
Before the Party
Start around Logan Circle and Thomas Circle for drinks before heading to Furball. Check the confirmed party address before planning your journey.
- Green Lantern – 1335 Green Court NW. Tucked down an alley near Thomas Circle, this gay bar has a sociable downstairs bar and an upstairs space with club lighting and music. Great venue for meeting fellow MAL visitors before the party.
- Number Nine – 1435 P Street NW. A two-story gay lounge and video bar in Logan Circle, with an extensive cocktail menu. Start downstairs for drinks and conversation before getting into your party gear.
- Leave time to return to your hotel, change and collect what you need. January nights can be cold, so check Furball’s clothing-check arrangements before travelling in revealing gear.
