Fire Island Leather Weekend 2024

Fire Island Leather Weekend takes place each year in May and is organised by Exelsior M.C, a social and charitable Club for Gay men celebrating leather.

• Fire Island Villas and hotels fill up almost a year in advance. Search for one now and reserve!

The Weekend

• The Leather Weekend is the party to start your Summer.
• The event is one of New York City‘s best leather parties benefiting Fire Island organisations.
• Events take place over the entire weekend.
• Highlights include a Social hour at the Ice Palace nightclub at the Grove Hotel, followed by a Master and Slave auction!
• On the Saturday events include a leather breakfast, a cocktail hour, a Sirs and Cigar afternoon.
• The evening continues with a cocktail hour and a dinner followed by the Mr Fire Island Leather contest.
• Sunday finishes the event with a Leather Brunch and a closing ceremony.

Friday, May 17

• Welcome Reception, 3:00 – 7:00pm, Complimentary welcome drink, registration pass, Cherry’s on the Bay
• Welcome Dinner, 7:00 – 9:00pm, Hosted by Excelsior M.C., Sand Castle on the Ocean
• Jock Auction, 9:00 – 11:00pm, Charitable activity celebrating the fashionable jockstrap, Cherry’s on the Bay
• After Hours Cocktail Reception, 11:30 – 12:30am, Belvedere Guest House

Saturday, May 18

• Breakfast Meal, 7:00 – 10:30am, Wristband Is Meal Credit, Floyd’s
• Eye Opener Cocktail Hour, 9:00 – 10:00am, Hosted by The Philadelphians, Belvedere Guest House
• Lust for Life Treasures, 10:00 – 12:00pm, Individuals or teams uncover the riches of Fire Island, Belvedere Pool Deck
• Booty Bouncing Pool Party, 12:00pm – 2:00pm, Hosted by Excelsior M.C., Belvedere Poolside
• To The Plank Social, 2:30 – 4:00pm, Hosted by Bad Companions, 24 Sumner Rd., Patio
• Pirate Reception and Mixer, 6:30pm, Hosted by Excelsior M.C., Belvedere Patio
• Dinner Buffet, 7:30pm, Formal Leather, Requested. Hosted by Excelsior M.C., Island Breeze Restaurant
• Mr. Fire Island Leather Contest, 9:00pm – 11:00pm, Hosted by Mr. Fire Island Leather with Special Guest, Arts Project at Cherry Grove

Sunday, May 19

• Booty Brunch, 10:15am – 12:00pm, Hosted by Excelsior M.C. with Closing Remarks, Island Breeze Restaurant

The Venues

• Island Breeze Restaurant – a classic American restaurant with great water views.
• Floyd’s – restaurant in Cherry Grove and a must for breakfast. Try their famous egg sandwiches and  fresh muffins.
• Belvedere Guest House – Hosts several parties and events, located on the bay front at Cherry Grove.
• Stay in a Classic Fire Island home, 400ft, with direct beach access.

Getting to Fire Island

• Take the Long Island Rail Road (LIRR)
• From Penn Station in Manhattan, take the LIRR to either Bay Shore, Sayville, or Patchogue stations, depending on which part of Fire Island you’re visiting.
• Bay Shore: Access to Ocean Beach, Seaview, and other communities.
• Sayville: Access to Fire Island Pines, Cherry Grove, and Sailors Haven/Sunken Forest.
• Patchogue: Access to Davis Park and Watch Hill.
• Connect to the Ferry
• Once at the LIRR station, you can take a taxi or shuttle to the respective ferry terminal.
• Ferries will take you directly to your desired Fire Island community.
