The Pride Fest
- Next Edition: Saturday, June 5, 2027
- NOLA Pridefest moves to Woldenberg Riverfront Park Esplanade for a free afternoon and evening celebrating the city’s LGBTQ+ community.
- The festival champions new and emerging LGBTQ+ artists from New Orleans and across the Gulf Coast.
- Expect live entertainment, community stalls, food trucks, snoballs and fully stocked bars, with space to meet friends and explore the vendors between performances.
- Community organisations and health-service providers form part of the festival, connecting visitors with the groups supporting LGBTQ+ life throughout the year.
- Check out the top hotels closest to the festival.
From the Phoenix to the Riverfront
- Pridefest began in 2015 as a block party outside The Phoenix Bar in the Marigny.
- Its move to the riverfront gives the 2027 festival a new setting beside the Mississippi, within reach of the French Quarter’s hotels, restaurants and nightlife.
- The festival remains free to attend, supported by community fundraising and donations.
The Venue
- Woldenberg Riverfront Park Esplanade – the confirmed location for NOLA Pridefest 2027.
- The riverfront setting places the celebration beside the Mississippi, with open-air gathering space and the French Quarter behind it.
- Choose a French Quarter hotel if you want to combine the festival with sightseeing, restaurants and late-night gay bars on foot.
- Check the organiser’s final arrival instructions for the festival entrance and site layout.
New Orleans Pride Parade – One Week Later
- The New Orleans Pride Parade takes place on Saturday 12th June 2027, one week after Pridefest.
- Organised by New Orleans Community Pride, the evening procession travels through the French Quarter.
- Pridefest and the parade are separate events on different weekends. Choose your travel dates around the celebration you want to attend, or extend your stay to experience both.
Before and After Pridefest
Start with lunch in the French Quarter, head to the riverfront for the festival, then continue into the city’s gay bars after the entertainment finishes.
- The Golden Lantern – 1239 Royal Street. Long-running neighbourhood gay bar and the original home of Southern Decadence. A sociable stop in the lower French Quarter, away from the larger Bourbon Street clubs.
- Good Friends Bar – 740 Dauphine Street. Corner gay bar with the Queen’s Head Pub upstairs. Good for meeting friends over drinks before moving on to Bourbon Street.
- Bourbon Pub & Parade – 801 Bourbon Street at St Ann. Two-level gay nightlife address combining the downstairs Pub with the upstairs Parade space. Its program includes drag shows and late-night entertainment.
- The Phoenix – 941 Elysian Fields Avenue, Marigny. Pridefest’s original home remains a fixture for leather men, bears and club socials. The main bar operates around the clock; the Eagle has its own opening times and house rules.
Where to Stay for NOLA Pridefest
The French Quarter is the most practical base for combining the riverfront festival with sightseeing and gay nightlife. The Marigny suits visitors who prefer neighbourhood restaurants, Frenchmen Street music venues and The Phoenix.
- French Market Inn – Historic Decatur Street hotel with antique brickwork and a stone-paved courtyard. Great choice for exploring the riverfront, Jackson Square and the Quarter without relying on taxis.
- Hotel Monteleone – Classic Royal Street stay with a rooftop pool and the rotating Carousel Bar. Full of traditional New Orleans character and a central position between the riverfront and Bourbon Street.
- Hotel Peter and Paul – Distinctive Marigny hotel occupying a former religious complex, with individually decorated rooms. Best for visitors making the neighbourhood’s restaurants and bars part of their weekend; allow extra travel time to the festival.
- The Roosevelt New Orleans – Grand hotel just beyond Canal Street, with a rooftop pool, spa and the Sazerac Bar. Perfect for a longer stay combining Pridefest with restaurants and sightseeing across the city.
