The Event
- Next Edition: Saturday, October 24, 2026
- Barcelona celebrates all things HalloQueer this Halloween season with the return of their annual street fair.
- The event takes over Plaça Universitat for a full day of Halloween costumes, local shopping, music and queer entertainment.
- Organised by Som Eixample, the street fair brings the neighbourhood’s businesses and LGBTQ+ community together in one of Barcelona’s busiest central squares.
- The fair and festivities kick off at 11 am and continue until 1 am.
- Browse the stalls during the day, stop for a vermouth, then return for bingo, drag, concerts, shows and DJs as the fair shifts into evening party mode.
- Go in costume if you like, but allow some room for a jacket: you may spend much of the day outdoors. The makeup stand gives you another option if you are arriving without a complete look.
- Upgrade your HallloQueer experience with a stay at the Hotel Casa Sagnier, a stunning boutique hotel just steps from the bars and clubs. We adore their delicious breakfasts, and the cute rooftop with complimentary drinks and snacks.
The Venue
- HalloQueer has moved to Plaça Universitat for 2026.
- Plaça Universitat is a practical meeting point for friends arriving from different parts of Barcelona.
- It sits by the edge of Eixample, with the Gaixample bars and restaurants within walking distance.
- The Venue is transformed with Halloween decorations, a stage, fair, market stalls, makeup station and more..
- Universitat metro station serves lines L1 and L2, making it a practical arrival point from other parts of Barcelona.
- For a longer evening, head into Eixample towards Aribau, Muntaner and Consell de Cent after the street festivities.
- Check out the best hotels closest to the gay district.
Barcelona After Dark
- Plaça Universitat puts you within reach of Barcelona’s main gay nightlife district. Continue the evening around Gaixample, where bars are spread across several neighbouring streets rather than concentrated on one strip.
- Use our Barcelona Gay Guide to plan your bar stops, late-night venues and the rest of your weekend.
Where to stay?
