ThotTea – The Pride Tea Dance, Detroit 2027
Thots & Prayers returns with ThotTea, bringing its popular Pride tea dance back to Metro Detroit for an afternoon of hot guys, guest DJs and classic circuit sounds.
- Visiting Detroit for Pride? Stay close to the Tea Dance at The David Whitney Hotel, a 4 star hotel rated “Fabulous” by guests, just 3 minutes from the venue. Located in the heart of downtown with great views and modern decor.
The Party

- ThotTea is the signature daytime tea dance from Detroit promoters Thots & Prayers and one of their biggest Pride season parties.
- With a predominantly gay male crowd, guest DJs, dancers and a soundtrack mixing vocal house, circuit anthems and Pride favourites.
- Previous editions have run from afternoon into the evening, creating a relaxed start before developing into a full-on dance party.
- Dress is casual and sexy. Shorts, tanks, Pride gear and summer party looks are popular.
- Guest DJs and performers change with each edition, with previous parties attracting established names from the US circuit scene.

The Venue
- Previous editions of ThotTea have taken place at Orchid Theatre at 141 W Nine Mile Road in Downtown Ferndale.
- Orchid Theatre is a large nightclub and event space with a spacious dance floor, stage, powerful sound and lighting.
- The club sits right in the centre of Downtown Ferndale, close to the neighbourhood’s bars, restaurants and LGBTQ+ venues.
- Ferndale is approximately 12 miles north of Downtown Detroit. Allow around 20 to 30 minutes by Uber or Lyft, depending on traffic.

Ferndale
- Ferndale is one of Metro Detroit’s most LGBTQ-friendly neighbourhoods and makes a great place to spend the afternoon before ThotTea.
- Downtown Ferndale is centred around Nine Mile Road and Woodward Avenue, with independent restaurants, bars and shops within a compact area.
- SOHO Ferndale is one of the neighbourhood’s best-known gay bars and is just along Nine Mile Road from Orchid Theatre.
- Ferndale hosts its own annual Pride celebration, separate from Motor City Pride in Downtown Detroit.
