The HighBall Halloween Festival 2026
HighBall Halloween returns to the Short North Arts District with costume couture, street entertainment, local designers and one of Columbus’s most creative Halloween celebrations.

The Festival
- Next Edition: Saturday October 3rd 2026
- HighBall Halloween joins Hops on High for a new combined street festival.
- Celebrations take place along High Street in the Short North Arts District.
- Entry to the street festival is free.
- The centrepiece is the Costume Couture Fashion Show, featuring five Columbus designers.
- Visitors wearing outstanding costumes will have an opportunity to join the runway before the main designer show.

HighBall meets Hops on High
- The 2026 edition marks a major change for HighBall Halloween. The traditional late-night costume party becomes part of Hops on High, an open-streets celebration of art, fashion, food and local businesses.
- High Street will become a pedestrian festival zone featuring makers, pop-up galleries, food trucks, live performers and interactive art.
- The event coincides with the October Gallery Hop, when Short North galleries, shops, restaurants and studios host new exhibitions and special events.
Costume Couture Fashion Show
- HighBall’s signature fashion show returns with five local designers presenting elaborate Halloween-inspired runway collections.
- Costumed festival guests will be invited to take part in a public runway presentation before the designer showcase. Final entry arrangements, judging details and prizes await confirmation.
Gay Short North
- Short North’s main gay venues are within a few minutes’ walk of the HighBall Halloween festival area.
- Axis Nightclub – Columbus’s main LGBTQ+ dance club, hosting DJs, drag shows and late-night parties.
- Union Café – Popular gay bar and restaurant known for cocktails, drag brunches and its large patio.
- Stonewall Columbus – Central Ohio’s LGBTQ+ community centre, located at 1160 North High Street.
- Nina West Way – The section of Hull Alley named after Columbus drag star Nina West.
