Spring brings the bears out of hibernation as Montreal welcomes the return of Sugarbear weekend, a feast of delicious bear parties, events and the Mr Ours competition.
- Stay close to the parties, the gay village and the city’s top attractions at the Hyatt Place Downtown, offering guests spacious rooms, an beautiful indoor pool, modern gym and highly-rated breakfasts.
The Event
- Next Edition: Wednesday 8th April 2026 – Sunday 12th April, 2026.
- Join the furriest, sexiest and horniest bears in Canada as the Sugarbear weekend makes a welcome return to Montreal. Get that sugar flowing!
- Sugarbear is the first Bear Event of the Spring in Montreal and attracts hundreds of hot bears from Canada and beyond for a weekend of circuit parties, bear meet ups and more.
The Schedule
- The following schedule is a guide on what to expect: Venues to be confirmed:
- Thursday – At Aigle Noir (Black Eagle) Montreal – Mix and mingle with the contestants of Mr Ours MTL 2025. From 6 pm until 20 pm.
- Friday – Pre Show Cocktails at Stock & Soda from 6 pm too 8 pm, followed by the Concurs, Mr Bear Montreal Competition – Who will be crowned Mr Bear? Watch the Bears perform for the title of Mr Ours, an event focused on promoting body positivity. From 8 pm to 10 pm at Stock & Soda.
- The event is followed by a after-free party from 10 pm to 3 am, again at Stock Bar.
- Saturday – Afternoon – Bear Splash at the Gi Joe Sauna from 4 pm to 8 pm – an afternoon just for bears!
- Saturday – Evening – Kick start your evening with the “Bear Playground” Pre Party at Bar Le Stud from 6 pm to 10 pm, followed by the Bear Playground Main Event at Halls Ste Catherine from 10 pm until 3 am.
- Sunday – Events end with a Bear Brunch at Bar Le Stud from 1 pm to 4 pm, followed by the Bear Tea Dance. Alternatively, head over to Cocktail for a special Sunday drag show from 6 pm.

The Venues
- Aigle Noir (Black Eagle) – Popular gay bar and a staple of the Montreal gay scene serving beer & cocktails with guest DJs & a buzzy patio.
- Le Stud Bar – Long running gay bar with a busy happy-hour, with different levels and zones, guest DJs and busy dancefloor.
- Stock & Soda – Host to some of Montreal’s hottest strippers, this friendly bar is one of the most popular spots in the city. Friendly staff, great cocktails and lots of space.
- Gi Joe Sauna – Spans 14,000 square feet across four floors, featuring 72 rooms equipped with showers, a hot tub, snack bar, dry and wet saunas, and a relaxation room.
- Halls Ste Catherine – Halls Ste-Catherine is nestled in Montreal’s Gay Village, one of the largest in North America. Spans 2,200 square meters, offering six distinct rooms and five bars. Located within Montreal’s Gay Village, approximately 2 kilometers east of downtown.
- Le Cocktail – Cabaret and drag lounge bar, dressed in red with cocktails, shows, drag nights and more.
- Cabaret Lion D’Or – Host of the main party by Pitbull, a chic art deco style restaurant & bar serving classic French cuisine & a cabaret-style lounge hosting live concerts and events. Located just a 10-minute walk from the heart of the Gay Village.
