Muccassassina, Rome's biggest gay party decamps from its home at CUBE club to the outdoor festival Jazz&Image Caracalla Festival, every Friday during Summer!
- Are you visiting Rome this Summer? Stay close to the gay bars and clubs of the gay village and take the train to the festival. The Profumo Maison – Colosseo, is rated “Fabulous” by guests with a great location, delicious breakfast options and classically decorated rooms.
The Party
- Next Edition: Friday, July 31, 2026 (Summer season – returns after Rome Pride in mid June to the end of August).
- Muccassassina is without a doubt, Rome's premier gay circuit event. The party is known for its legendary stage shows with world-class production values.
- As temperatures rise during the Summer high-season in Rome, the biggest gay party leaves the city's clubs and head for the open air at Terme di Caracalla.
- During the summer months, the residency moves outdoors to Jazz&Image beside the Baths of Caracalla, combining live entertainment, DJs and open-air clubbing beneath one of Rome's most iconic historic landmarks.
- Each event has a unique theme with different world class DJs, over-the-top performances, sexy gogos and outrageous drag queens.
- The party runs from 7.30 pm to 4 am.
Jazz&Image Caracalla Festival
- Jazz&Image Caracalla Festival takes place on the lawns beside the ancient Baths of Caracalla, around 2 km south of Rome's historic centre and about a 15–20 minute taxi ride from the bars around Via di San Giovanni and the city's main LGBTQ+ nightlife near the Colosseum area.
- An atmospheric open-air venue where live jazz, soul and cabaret are performed beneath the illuminated Roman ruins. Tables are spread across a garden-style terrace, giving the evening the feel of a summer festival rather than a formal concert hall.
- The layout is relaxed and spacious, with a central stage, café-style seating, food and drinks service, and excellent sightlines from most tables. Arrive early if seating is unreserved to secure a spot closest to the stage.
- The nearest Metro station is Rome Metro Line B at Circo Massimo metro station, around a 15-minute walk away. Taxis are plentiful after performances and are the quickest option back into the city centre late at night.
- Summer evenings in Rome stay warm well into the night, though the venue is completely outdoors. Bring a light layer for later performances, use mosquito repellent, and allow extra time before the show if you want to explore the spectacular archaeological setting before taking your seat.
The Venue
- A Roman ruin by day, and an extraordinary open-air nightlife stage by summer night.
- Once the site of ancient indulgence, the Terme di Caracalla transforms during the warmer months into one of Rome’s most atmospheric venues for large-scale events.
- Massive stone arches, weathered mosaic floors, and sky-high vaults set the scene for nights of music and parties.
- Book your hotel in advance as Rome is a busy city throughout the year and one of the most expensive in Europe.
Getting There
- Located on Via delle Terme di Caracalla, just behind the Circus Maximus. Easy to reach from the Colosseum or Aventino.
- Taxi: Around 5–8 minutes, ~€8–12
- Public Transport: Bus 87 or Metro Line B to Circo Massimo, then a 10-minute walk along the ancient road.
