Harlem Pride Celebration Day

- The Celebration also features food vendors with delicious menus, retails and a small business vendors marketplace.
- The event runs from 12 Noon to 6 PM on 12th Avenue at West 135th Street on Harlem’s Westside.
Gay Harlem
Harlem has long been a refuge for the gay community as far back as the masquerade parties and drag balls of the twenties and thirties. Over the past decade, the neighbourhood has become even more popular thanks to its more affordable housing and proximity to Midtown’s theatre district; just take the A train.
- Stay close to all the gay bars in Harlem at the Gallery House Hotel, rated Superb with city view rooms and charming decor.
- Alibi Lounge – Alibi’s fun happy hour and nightly offerings bring the community to 139th and Adam Clayton Powell throughout the week. Regular events include Caribbean nights and Go Go Mondays. Be sure to get your disco nap in as the party often picks up after midnight and goes until the early hours of the morning.
- Lambda Lounge, Just down the street from Alibi — a quick, five-minute walk so close that hopping in a car would feel like a waste of gas, is one of two Black-owned gay bars in the neighbourhood, with an intimate vibe offering pizza & wings, plus beer & signature cocktails.
- 4West Lounge – Just a 3-minute walk from Apollo Theater, 4West Lounge is a vibrant gay social membership for the LGBTQ+ community, with live shows and friendly sexy bar staff and cool decor.
- Harlem Tavern – Gay-friendly meeting spot with an eclectic menu including the HT Burger and truffle fries.
- Make My Cake – Legendary bakery offering some of the tastiest desserts in the city, including German chocolate cake and their famous cherry turnovers.
