Cologne Gay Pride or as it is better known Christopher Street Day is one of the bigger European gay prides attracting over one million people.

Gay Pride Cologne and the Cologne CSD parade are part of a larger Gay Pride Festival, which includes several cultural events, concerts and parties. Cologne is the 4th largest city in Germany and is one of the most gay-friendly destinations in Europe.

- ColognePride is much more than Pride weekend. The official programme begins almost three weeks before the street festival with exhibitions, theatre, debates, sports events, concerts and community gatherings taking place across the city before culminating during the first weekend of July.
CSD Cologne Street Festival
- Next Edition: Friday 2 July to Sunday 4 July 2027
- More than 1.4 million visitors head to Cologne for the famous three-day street festival in the Old Town, Europe’s largest Pride parade and hundreds of parties, cultural events and community gatherings across the city.
- Events kick off in Cologne’s charming Old City district at 6 pm on Friday with a huge Street Festival.
- Street parties take place on the Heumarkt, Alter Markt and Gürzenichstraße.
- Heumarkt , Main Stage | Alter Markt , Political Stage | Beach Stage , DJs, drag shows and relaxed daytime atmosphere. Dance Stage , International DJs and dancers.
- After the official opening, three stages burst into life. The Street Party includes food trucks, bars, information stands, vendor booths across several nearby squares, and a complete stage program featuring local and international acts, DJs, drag queens and liver performances.

Cologne Pride Parade
- Sunday 4 July 2027 – Cologne Gay Pride Parade starts from Deutzer Brücke, working its way through the old town to Komödienstraße, with over 120 floats participating in the parade.
- The parade typically kicks off at 11.30 pm. Departing from the Deutz side of the Rhine before crossing into Cologne city centre.
- It then passes through the Innenstadt before returning towards the Old Town and finishes beside the Pride Street Festival.
- For less crowded vantage, stand near media park or Inklusions‑area which has ramp access and a diverse audience.
- Streets fill early—get to your viewing spot by 11 am.
- More than 55,000 participants, around 100 floats and 1.4 million spectators take part in what organisers say is Germany’s largest Pride parade.
- If you plan on visiting, book your hotel in the gay district early, as this is one of the most popular Summer pride events in July. Choose hotels along Ringstrasse or close to Heumarkt or Ebertplatz for walking distance to stage areas and parade.

Cologne Beach Pride
- Late June to the first Monday in July – Situated on Elogiusplatz, near Heumarkt in Cologne’s Old Town, the Pride Beach transforms an urban square into a sandy oasis.

- Complete with a beach bar serving cocktails (like Aperol Spritz), drinks, and light snacks.

Pride Festival Cologne

Cologne Pride Partyboat
- Awaiting dates – Cologne Fetish Pride hosts a special Pride Boat Party on Saturday afternoon. The three hour river cruise includes DJs and the winner of Mr Bear Europe.
- Note this is the second of two boat parties, the first held during Cologne Fetish Pride in May.

- Expect the Sunday parade to last up to five hours, so bring sunscreen, water and a little cash for public toilets.
Where to stay during Cologne Pride?
Most of Cologne’s LGBTQ+ bars are centred around Schaafenstraße and Rudolfplatz, approximately:
- 15–20 minutes on foot from the Pride Festival.
- 10 minutes by tram.
- A short taxi ride after the festival finishes.
During Pride weekend the bars become extremely busy from late afternoon onwards, with many visitors heading there once the official stages close.
