The Event

- Visit Groenplaats, one of Antwerp’s most prominent squares in the heart of the city’s historic district and discover a village full of beer producers who come to present the fruits of their brewing endeavors.
- The festival features more than 200 different beers to try with something to suit all tastes. BierPassie Weekend unveils more than two dozen different beers each year.
- Make your way to the Beer Sommelier stand and try some of the more unique beer styles, all while enjoying big band and Dixie land live music performances. The event attracts thousands of visitors over the weekend.

Food & Drink
- Entrance to the festival is free of charge. Visitors purchase the Biersommelier Pilot Glass (20CL) for about 5 EUR and includes a catalogue.
- Purchase tokens at the festival entrance. Redeem your tokens for delicious beer tastings and food plates.
- The “Oud Brugge” Cheese Stand is a must-visit.
Groenplaats
- The Groenplaats (Green Square) is a large square in the centre of the Belgian city of Antwerp, situated south of the Antwerp cathedral. There are various trees with benches on the square, which is a ‘resting place’.
- A statue of Rubens, designed in 1840 and erected in 1843 by Willem Geefs, is in the centre of the square. Adjacent lie many cafes and a Hilton hotel, located in the old Grand Bazaar building.

- Many of the gay bars in the old town host special beer evenings throughout the BierPassie Weekend.

Antwerp is small and compact having a beautifully preserved old town in the centre. Having said that bars and clubs (more than 30) are spread out around the city, so its best to find a hotel close to the centre and journey out to your preferred destination. The main club, Red & Blue is located in the harbour. Famous gay monthly parties Studio 54 and Café de Love attract guys from all over Europe so book your accommodation in advance.
