- Akbar – One of LA’s best-known neighbourhood gay bars, located at 4356 West Sunset Boulevard in Silver Lake.
- The seasonal Bears in Space parties take over the rear parking lot, creating a relaxed outdoor setting before the party continues inside until 2 am.
- Akbar has a front cocktail bar and a separate dance room, attracting a friendly mix of local LGBTQ+ regulars, bears, club kids and music lovers.
- The venue is about 8 miles from West Hollywood. Allow 25 to 40 minutes by taxi or rideshare, with extra time during Labor Day weekend traffic. Street parking is limited, so rideshare is the easiest option.
Silverlake
- Silverlake is known for its bohemian vibe and is a hub for artists and musicians.
- Home to a mix of organic cafes, quirky boutiques, and vintage shops.
- The neighborhood is also known for its picturesque reservoir—the Silver Lake Reservoir—which offers walking and jogging paths with scenic views.

- Catch One – One of LA’s most legendary nightlife institutions, spread across multiple rooms with everything from circuit nights and Latin beats to drag shows and live concerts.
- The place feels huge once you get inside, with different crowds moving between patios, dancefloors and dark corners.
- Located on West Pico Boulevard in Arlington Heights, around 15-20 minutes by taxi from the main WeHo gay bars along Santa Monica Boulevard, depending on traffic. It’s a destination club rather than a casual bar hop stop.
- The club carries real LGBTQ+ history. Originally opened in 1973 by Jewel Thais-Williams, it became one of the first major Black gay discos in the US and still pulls a mixed crowd of club kids, party tourists, underground music fans and longtime locals.
- Stay close to the party in the downtown district. Check out the Level Suites , just a short 5 minute walk away from the venue
