Bears in Space – Halloween Los Angeles 2026

Bears in Space, LA’s popular party promoter produces a series of parties throughout the year during holidays and special occasions.

  • Stay close to WeHo’s gay bars at Le Parc at Melrose, a boutique hotel with spacious rooms and a beautiful rooftop pool, just 20-minutes from the party.

Bears in Space

  • Next Edition: Friday, October 30, 2026  – Bears in Space x Horse Meat Disco Halloween – Catch One
  • Bears in Space teams up with London’s Horse Meat Disco for its Halloween edition at Catch One, bringing two heavyweight queer disco collectives together for one of the bigger dates on the LA Halloween calendar.Bears in Space is the Los Angeles DJ duo of Chris Bowen and Victor Rodriguez, known for parties that move between Silver Lake lot parties, warehouse spaces and larger club takeovers.
  • The Halloween edition takes the familiar Bears in Space mix of disco, house and queer club music and moves it into a much larger setting, drawing bears, otters, disco boys and plenty of LA regulars who don’t fit neatly into any one tribe.
  • Horse Meat Disco has built its reputation around disco in all its forms, from classic cuts and rarities to house and harder late-night sounds.
  • Costumes are strongly encouraged. Bears in Space has always had a playful side, and Halloween brings out some of the party’s better looks without turning the night into a formal costume contest.
  • Bears in Space runs several Los Angeles editions throughout the year, including its Silver Lake lot parties, LA Pride events and holiday specials.
  • Stay close to the party in the downtown district. Check out the Level Suites , just a short 5 minute walk away from the venue.

The Next Edition

  • Bears in Space joins forces with Horse Meat Disco for a special Halloween edition at Catch One, mixing disco, house and queer club sounds with a darker Halloween twist.
  • Special guests Pretty Gay Friendly join residents Heidi Lawden, DJ Nate and Dick Ensalada for a night of back-to-back sets, costumes and late-night fun.
  • Dress for Halloween and expect a playful, sexy crowd of bears, disco boys and LA party regulars taking over Catch One for one of the season’s standout queer parties.

The Venue

  • Catch One – Catch One has five separate event rooms, ranging from the 1,200-capacity Disco to smaller club spaces such as Jewel’s Room and the Apartment.
  • The building has real weight in LA’s LGBTQ+ history. Opened by Jewel Thais-Williams in the early 1970s, the original Jewel’s Catch One became one of the first major nightclubs in the United States to openly welcome Black LGBTQ+ patrons.
  • That history hasn’t turned it into a museum piece. Catch One remains a working multi-room club and concert venue, hosting queer parties, electronic nights, live shows and larger touring productions.
  • Bears in Space works particularly well here since the venue can absorb a much larger Halloween crowd without losing the darker corners and separate spaces that give the party some character.
  • Catch One is a destination venue rather than part of a gay bar crawl. From Silver Lake, allow around 15 to 25 minutes by car depending on traffic; from West Hollywood, the journey can take longer on Halloween night.

Halloween Weekend in Los Angeles

Halloween falls on a Saturday in 2026, putting Bears in Space in the middle of one of LA’s busiest LGBTQ+ weekends.

  • Saturday 31st October 2026 – Bears in Space x Horse Meat Disco Halloween – The main Halloween edition at Catch One.
  • Saturday 31st October 2026 – West Hollywood Halloween Carnaval – The huge outdoor Halloween celebration takes over Santa Monica Boulevard, giving you a very different option earlier in the evening.
  • Sunday 1st November 2026 – Reload Halloween Weekend – After-hours circuit party for anyone planning to carry the weekend into Sunday.

Trying to combine West Hollywood and Bears in Space is possible, but don’t leave the move across town too late. Halloween traffic around WeHo can be slow, and Catch One is not within walking distance.

Gay Silver Lake

Bears in Space grew out of the Silver Lake queer scene, and this is still the neighbourhood that best matches the party’s personality. It feels less polished than West Hollywood, with a stronger mix of bears, leather guys, queer creatives and neighbourhood regulars.

  • Akbar – 4356 Sunset Boulevard. The spiritual home of Bears in Space and still one of the most useful places to understand the party outside its larger special editions. The compact front bar leads to a back dance room, and the venue regularly hosts Bears in Space lot parties and guest DJs.
  • Eagle LA – 4219 Santa Monica Boulevard. Long-running leather and bear bar with a dark interior, busy patio and regular programme of DJs, dancers and fetish nights. It’s a natural fit for Bears in Space visitors who prefer Silver Lake to the larger clubs of West Hollywood.
  • Honey’s at Star Love – 1532 N Western Avenue. Queer cocktail and dance venue on the edge of East Hollywood with DJs and late-night parties. The crowd is broader than the bear and leather bars, making it a useful option if your group wants something less male-focused.

Where to Stay

For Bears in Space, there are two sensible approaches. Stay around Silver Lake/Los Feliz if you want the neighbourhood most closely associated with the party, or choose Koreatown/Mid-Wilshire if being closer to Catch One on Halloween night matters most.

  • The LINE Hotel LA – Strong choice for the Halloween edition, with a pool, restaurants and bars in Koreatown. It puts you closer to Catch One than a West Hollywood hotel and still leaves Silver Lake within easy reach.
  • Cara Hotel – Stylish Los Feliz option on North Western Avenue with a courtyard restaurant and bar. A better base if you want to spend the rest of the weekend around Silver Lake, Los Feliz and East Hollywood.
  • Silver Lake Pool & Inn – One of the most convenient locations for the Silver Lake scene, with a pool and easy access to Sunset Boulevard.
  • Browse hotels in Los Angeles – For this event, focus your search around Silver Lake, Los Feliz, Koreatown or Mid-Wilshire rather than automatically booking West Hollywood.
