The Event

• Presented by RGV BEARS, Wet Oso Weekend is an entire 3-day weekend festival dedicated to gay Bears and their admirers.

• Expect to see some hot & hairy live entertainment, guest DJs, and Bears Bears Bears. WOOF!
• Events are held at the Host Hotel, Holiday Inn Resort South Padre Island-Beach Front

The Schedule

• Events run from Thursday to Sunday and include a Bearaoke karaoke social (early registration), Vendor market, Bearlympics beach games, rugby, sunset cruise and the popular Halftime Heat party.
• Saturday's highlights include the pool party + Mr. Wet Oso contest, optional dinner, toga dance party.

• Island Daiquiris 2 Go – The perfect place to take a cocktail to the beach. Pina Colladas anyone?
• Barry's Tacos & Margaritas – Foodtruck located on the beachfront deck at the Hilton Garden Inn, serving delicious food on the go.
• Cafe on the Beach – Decades-old resort offers breakfast, lunch and dinner with a view from its restaurant. But you don't have to be a guest at the resort to try the food, which includes seafood like red snapper and oysters or twists on brunch favourites such as migas and malted pancakes.
• Josephine's Kitchen – Open from 7:30 am to 1:30 pm, is a brunch favourite to fuel up before a day at the beach. Check out its award-winning shrimp and grits or weekend specials that can include a roast pork hash or brioche French toast stuffed with strawberries and cream cheese.

The Beaches

• Most visitors head to the sandy shores of South Padre Island to soak up the sun and sounds of the Gulf.
• There are plenty of beach access points along Gulf Blvd., and most hotels also have access.
• If you didn't bring a beach “setup” with you, you can always rent chairs and umbrellas from Jim's Beach Service .

Getting to South Padre Island

• Brownsville/South Padre Island International Airport (BRO) is the closest major airport to South Padre Island.
• The airport is approximately 30 miles away. From the airport, you can take a shuttle to reach the Island.
• South Padre Island is accessible via Highway 100, and the Island itself is connected to the mainland by the Queen Isabella Causeway.
