The Twin Cities of Minneapolis and St. Paul celebrate Gay Pride each June attracting more than 400,000 visitors to the city during a week of events.
The Twin Cities of Minneapolis and St. Paul celebrate Gay Pride each June. The event attracts more than 400,000 visitors and concludes with two major events, the Pride Festival and the Pride Parade.

The Pride Festival
- Next Event: Saturday 26th and Sunday 27th June 2027.
- Twin Cities Pride Festival takes over Loring Park in Downtown Minneapolis for two days of live entertainment, food, parties and community events.
- The free festival is one of the largest Pride celebrations in the Midwest, with 650+ vendors, LGBTQ+ organisations, local businesses, artists and food stands spread throughout the park.
- Running from 10 am to 7 pm on Saturday and from 10 am to 6 pm on Sunday.
- Loring Park is on the southern edge of Downtown Minneapolis, within walking distance of Hennepin Avenue, the Pride Parade route and several of the city’s busiest gay bars.
The Pride Parade
- Next Event: Sunday 27th June 2027.
- Twin Cities Pride Parade is the highlight of Pride Sunday, attracting 200,000+ spectators to Downtown Minneapolis.
- The parade starts at 11 am at 3rd Street and Hennepin Avenue and travels along Hennepin Avenue to Spruce Street, close to Loring Park. It finishes at approximately 2 pm.
- Featuring a colourful mix of floats, performers, LGBTQ+ organisations, community groups and local businesses.
- Arrive early if you want a good position along Hennepin Avenue. The downtown section of the route fills quickly before the 11 am start.
Rainbow Run
- Next Event: Sunday 27th June 2027.
- Start Pride Sunday with the Rainbow Run 5K along Hennepin Avenue.
- A pre-run yoga and stretch session starts at 8.30 am, followed by the run at 9 am.
- The timing makes it easy to combine the Rainbow Run with the Pride Parade at 11 am and the final day of Pride Festival at Loring Park.
Twin Cities Pride Parties
- Pride weekend brings some of Minneapolis’s busiest gay parties of the year, with much of the action centred around Hennepin Avenue.
- Don’t miss the Saloon Pride Block Party, one of the biggest parties of the weekend.
- The Saloon is at 830 Hennepin Avenue, directly on the Pride Parade route. During Pride it expands into a huge celebration with outdoor bars, DJs, dancers and live performances.
- Sunday afternoon is particularly busy as parade crowds move into the bars and Pride parties.
Gay Minneapolis
Minneapolis has a compact gay scene, with several of the city’s best-known venues clustered around Downtown and Hennepin Avenue.

- Expect road closures around Hennepin Avenue on Sunday morning for the Rainbow Run and Pride Parade. Walking and public transport are the easiest options during the main celebrations.
