The Twin Cities of Minneapolis and St. Paul celebrate Gay Pride each June attracting more than 400,000 visitors to the city during the week long series of events. The pride concludes with two major events, the weekend-long Pride Festival and the Pride Parade.

The Pride Festival
- Saturday 29th and Sunday 30th June, 2024 – The Pride Festival takes place in Loring Park with several stages and performances. Big name acts and surprise guests will perform throughout the day and into the night.
- The festival features vendors, food courts, a beer garden, and music stages with live acts and performances.
- Loring park is just a 4 minute drive or 15 minute walk from the gay bars and bustling Hennepin Avenue.
The Parade
- Sunday, 30th June, 2024 – The parade route takes place along Hennepin Avenue from 11am and attracts more than 125,000 visitors. The Pride parade has become a huge event with major parties taking place along the route.
- Stay close to the parade at Loews Minneapolis Hotel, rated “Fabulous” by guests with a modern gym, spacious rooms and perfect location for exploring the city.
The Block Party
- The Saloon Block Party is one of the biggest parties to take place during the Minneapolis gay pride weekend. The entire block by the bar becomes the biggest gay playground in the city.
Other Parties during Gay Pride Minneapolis
- Union Restaurant & Rooftop has become the number one venue for drag queen brunch in gay Minneapolis and opens its retractable rooftop for a huge Pride party during the parade.
- The Saloon is the only gay bar on the parade route is ground zero for Minneapolis Pride. The bar hosts parties during the entire weekend. Sunday’s party kicks off at 8am, so pace yourself. They even have a Ferris Wheel.
- Café & Bar Lurcat overlooks Loring Park and throws a great disco party over two floors, the Surly beer truck, plenty of bars and drink stations. The party goes from noon until 7pm.
- Esker Grove’s Pride on the Patio begins at 10 am and runs until 5 pm. Guest DJs, a great brunch, killer views and awesome cocktails await.

- Both Minneapolis and nearby St Paul attract young people from the rural areas stretching hundreds of miles in all directions, making the Twin Cities the buckle of the northern farm belt. As with much of the Midwest, you will feel very welcome.
- Gay bars are spread out across the city, however a cluster can be found in downtown Minneapolis on Hennepin Avenue. Stay in the Radisson Blu in downtown with great rooms and the perfect location.
- Gay 90s, the Brass Rail, and the Saloon are easily walkable between 4th and 11th Streets. Bar 19 is to the south on 15th, near the Convention Center.
