The Event
- Llum, meaning Light in Catalan, takes place in the Poblenou quarter, starting at the Disseny Hub Barcelona (Plaça de les Glòries). The installations are spread across the district and are visible from 6 pm until midnight. Previous events have seen more than 15 different installations and exhibitions.
- Featuring the work of architects, designers and artists from around the world, Llum BCN celebrates spectacles that both tell a story and spark conversation. Artists are given the opportunity to further enhance the scope of their work through the use of large-scale projection, interactive spaces and commanding lighting as a form of artistic experimentation. In previous editions, Llum BCN has featured key artists, such as Rafael Lozano-Hemmer, United Visual Artists, Luke Jerram, Daniel Canogar and Julio Le Parc.
- Large historic buildings , old factory chimneys and industrial buildings are transformed into works of art by light. The installations turn the neighborhood of Poblenou into a unique world of expressive light and imagery.
