Habits de Lumiere Epernay France 2026

The Festival

• Next Edition: Friday 11th December, 2026 – Sunday 13th December, 2026.

The Events

• Festivities occur in the Avenue de Champagne, known as “The Richest Avenue in the world”. They include artistic performances, champagne bars, culinary experiences – Habits de Saveurs, a vintage car parade and many other events.
• Habits de Lumière is celebrating its 21st anniversary. On the second weekend in December, the Capital of Champagne lights up for a long festive weekend attracting more than 45,000 visitors.
• Discover the most luxurious bed and breakfasts in Epernay with “Exceptional” ratings.

Fireworks and Light Illuminations

• Friday and Saturday –  the evening begins with a light show on the facade of the City Hall. Different paintings with multiple colours are projected on this facade.
• Then, a luminous parade will take place along the avenue of Champagne. Follow the parade to the final meeting point and take in the magnificent fireworks display.
• Admire and appreciate the buildings of the most famous champagne houses, illuminated and decorated for the occasion. Step inside and try some of their different vintages.
• Stay just steps from the festivities at the Au Jeu de Paume, rated “Superb” by guests offering guests charming rooms with high-end amenities and delicious breakfast options.

Habits de Saveurs

• Saturday – Every year, on Saturday morning, near Halle Saint Thibault, Habits de Saveurs gathers gastronomy amateurs coming to discover the dishes cooked by the chefs from the most prestigious establishments of the region around a Cuvee chosen by the House associated with it.
• Recipes are cooked in the open air and available for tasting, served with a perfect Champagne pairing.

Vintage Car Parade

• Sunday – A bit of history, a dose of unusual encounters, excellent bodywork; welcome to the annual Vintage Car Parade, one of the most important gatherings of vintage cars in the North-East area of France.
• More than 400 vehicles over 35 years of age gather to create a grand parade of chromium and gleaming bodyworks, closing this weekend of festivities.
• From luxurious chauffeur-driven cars to antique fire trucks to the famous “young timer”, watch the story of automobiles unfold from 11 am.

Getting to Epernay

• The fastest and most convenient way to the event is by train from Paris. Epernay's train station is a two minute-walk's from the festivities.
• Car: via the motorway, Epernay is 1 hour 40 minutes from Charles de Gaulle airport, Paris and 1 hour 50 minutes from Orly airport.
• Train: from Paris Est station, it takes 1 hour and 20 minutes by TGV to get to Épernay.
• Bus: several companies offer bus services from various stations within Paris to Épernay.
