Tybee Island Equality Fest hits the beach during September each year and is the best way to end the Summer season in style.
Tybee Island Equality Fest hits the beach during September each year and is the best way to end the Summer season in style.
- Visiting Typee and want to stay overnight? We recommend the DeSoto Beach Hotel and The Admiral’s Inn.
Gay Tybee
- Tybee island, or “Savanna’s Beach” as it is known by locals is just a short 25 minute trip away from the center of downtown. Here, you’ll have miles of beaches to explore or lounge around on. There’s nothing like a cool ocean breeze, a drink in hand and a welcoming party to create a trip to remember.
- The island is the perfect vacation destination for gay travelers. You won’t find discriminating attitudes on this island because of the laid back culture shared by locals and business owners. In fact, the island embraces its gay population and visitors as an important part of what makes Tybee Island so special.
The Program
- There are currently no updates from the organisers – we are unable to confirm the event details. This was the schedule for 2022.
- Tybee Pride’s main event is on Saturday at 1pm from 6th Street to the Pier, followed by DJ, live shows and a vendor village at the Tybee Post Theatre.
Getting to the Island.
- It is easy to get to Tybee beach by car or ride-share. There is also a shuttle service which leaves the Savannah Visitor Center Friday-Sunday, at 10 a.m., 12 p.m., 2 p.m. and 4 p.m.
