Copenhagen 2021 WorldPride & EuroGames is a a huge LGBTQ culture festival to commemorate the fight for equality and the front runners championing LGTBI rights across the world.
In August 2021, the rainbow will radiate all over Copenhagen, when the Danish capital hosts WorldPride and EuroGames. The events are held as one LGBT mega event under the title Copenhagen 2021, and for the first time the two events are held at the same time, in the same city.
Two Opening Ceremonies
Besides hundreds of cultural events, Copenhagen plans for WorldPride 2021 to feature an outstanding beach party-style opening ceremony. With more than 10,000 attendees, prominent speakers, an array of musical performances and a unique setting that allows you to frolic in the sand and enjoy a dip in the sea water, this will be an extravaganza!
- 12 August – Malmo opens its WorldPride Park with a glittering mix of local and international performers kicking off the festivities.
- 13 August Copenhagen hosts the opening of WorldPride Square in the centre of the city and the official opening of the event.
WorldPride Square
The Copenhagen City Hall Square will be turned into a global Pride Square! LGBT organizations and NGOs from all over the world will be there to tell spectators about their work and encourage them to join our fight for equality. WorldPride Square will also be a pulsating backdrop to five days of open-air shows and performances – free of charge!
Opening Parade and WorldPride Parade
Malmo will host WorldPride’s opening parade, while Copenhagen’s parade will mark the culmination of WorldPride.
14th of August – The Opening Pride parade will take place in Malmo followed by a huge stage show with artists and special guests.

Saturday 21 August – Copenhagen hosts the Main parade on The WorldPride parade will be an enormous human rights manifestation.
With 60,000+ marchers in our parade and 500,000+ spectators, organisers are uniting the world in a transformative journey to celebrate love and diversity. The parade route will have no fencing, so spectators can join is as the parade makes its way through the city, epitomising the events theme, #YouAreIncluded.
Eurovision Night
Sunday 15th August – Grab your scorecards as Malmo hosts a Eurovision night to remember, with artists performing some of the many memorable hits from Eurovision’s 65-year history. Dix points!
Stella Polaris WorldPride Edition
Sunday 15th August – In Copenhagen, the Stella Polaris WorldPride Edition will be an afternoon and evening of chilled entertainment and relaxed atmosphere. Stella Polaris is the world’s biggest free chill-out electronic downtempo festival and this year it celebrates 25 years.
Eurogames
The Eurogames will feature LGBT athletes from all parts of the world will be competing in 25+ disciplines with thousands of people cheering from the sidelines and rainbow flags flickering in the wind. Eurogames will fight discrimination in sports and show the importance of diversity in the athletic community.
Wednesday 18 August – The EuroGames Opening Ceremony in Copenhagen focuses attention on the athletes and figureheads here for the sports activities. After athletes have walked the Proud Mile from the Sports Village, we’ll have speeches, presentations, and musical entertainment too.
Drag Night
Thursday 19 August – Copenhagen’s Drag Night is a huge celebration of all things drag. With a diverse range of talent including Drag Kings, Trans Kings and Queens, Bio Kings and Queens, Non-Binary and Genderfuck Drag and Drag Queens, this will truly be a night to remember.
Under the Rainbow International Edition
Friday 20 August – The WorldPride Stage in Copenhagen will be shining with the very best performances from LGBTI+ talent from around the world with the Under the Rainbow International Edition. The evening’s concert – coming after the final EuroGames tournaments have taken place and before the WorldPride Parade on Saturday – will really get the finale weekend underway.
Closing Ceremony
Saturday 21 August – The WorldPride Concert and Closing Ceremony will be the biggest LGBTI+ celebration ever staged in Scandinavia. Expect major international music artists, speeches from world leaders, powerful advocacy and human rights messaging, and handovers of the titles of WorldPride and EuroGames to Sydney and Nijmegen respectively.
WorldPride Parties
Each night will sport an official signature party in different, exciting and surprising venues that can accommodate up to 2,000 people.
