Gayze Festival Melbourne 2022
Gayze Festival is a 3 day event of blissful indulgence, taking over the St Kilda Beach precinct during height of the Melbourne Summer.
The Gayze Festival allows all the colours of the rainbow to be celebrated and embraced; while your every desire is arranged, entertained and satisfied as you explore wondrous new playgrounds of solidarity, sexuality and diversity in a majestic urban paradise.
Gayze festival promises to fuse the best of St Kilda’s with a weekend of non stop parties, dining and cultural events. The 3 day and night experience will bring some of the biggest DJs and circuit parties to Melbourne. Most of St Kilda’s popular bars will host special events, pool parties, dining and beach parties. The party is held in conjunction with Thick and Juicy, Melbourne’s hottest gay dance party.
Captain Baxter is where Gayze Festival welcomes you on board, kicking the party off in one of St Kilda’s premier rooftop restaurants and bars. Situated right on the beach, with breathtaking panoramic views across one of Australia’s most beautiful bays, its ample patios and deluxe rooftop bar make it the perfect place to meet, greet and connect for the very first time with your brand new weekend playmates.
Prince Bandroom is almost as much an icon of St Kilda as the beach itself, and has been a cornerstone of the Australian music scene for decades. Playing host to a diverse range of world-class entertainers and local legends, Gayze Festival 2020 takes over the esteemed Bandroom on the Friday night with jaw-dropping performances and iconic DJs until the early morning.
St Kilda offers an endlessly fascinating pot-pourri of modern pop and cafe culture. St Kilda is defined by two distinct retail strips, Fitzroy Street and Acland Street, with a magnificent Esplanade and the stunning St Kilda beach providing a natural link between the two precincts.
The beachfront location is the perfect venue for the Gayze festival, with many funky bars, outstanding restaurants and eclectic shops in the triangle formed by the intersections of Acland, Barkly and Carlisle Streets. Over the past decade what was once a once neglected seaside suburb has been transformed into Victoria’s unchallenged ‘Capital of Cool’. The world-famous patisseries, the landmark Edelweiss Delicatessen and the popular Sunday art-and-craft market on the Esplanade are all still here, and still thronged with customers.
But many hip newcomers have added to the vibrant cosmopolitan mix – sophisticated drinking spots, cozy and enticing restaurants, haute couture and New Age fashion outlets, Internet cafes, live music venues plus the monthly St Kilda Farmers’ Market and much more.
Here are the hotels we recommend that have good reviews and keep you close to all the action ,
